Super proud of these 3 today. After last years promotion from Division 3 of the British Cadet Club League, they completed the 4th weekend of matches today. They finished third in the league and we’re considerably younger than most of their opponents.

Josh and Olivia have played all four weekends, and Reggie has played in 3. Unfortunately, Reggie was poorly today and so Sofie stepped up two Divisions and did brilliantly.

This super talented set of kids are the future of our club, and our sport in this area, and we are incredibly proud of them.

Great effort from the squad🏓👏👏👏

Brilliant performances by cadets who train at MESC TTC on the second day of the Staffordshire Schools individual championship today.

In the final of the U11 girls Florence Ablewhite beat Sonya Masjakina in a thrilling 5 set match. The match could have gone either way and both girls are a credit to our club.

In the final of the Girls U13’s, the winner was Olivia Ablewhite, who was a class above any other girl and won her final to match her sisters achievement.

In the boys U13 event the final was again contested by two boys who train at MESC. Josh Smith was the winner and he beat Leo Colclough in the final. Great effort again by Josh, and well done Leo in his first Staffordshire event.

Great effort by some our other players also, who made quarter and semi finals, but just missed out on a medal place.

So after two days of competition, cadets and juniors who train at MESC TTC have achieved the following:

Boys U19 Winner - Ellis Roberts
Boys U19 Runner Up - Momin Khan
Boys U16 Winner - Charlie Ma
Boys U13 Winner - Josh Smith
Boys U13 Runner Up - Leo Colclough
Girls U13 Winner - Olivia Ablewhite
Girls U11 Winner - Florence Ablewhite
Girls U11 Runner Up - Sonya Masjakina

We wish all the winners the very best of luck as they will now represent Staffordshire in the National Finals in March.

Also, a big thanks to all of the coaching staff who have worked really hard with these kids to make them some of the best cadet and junior players in the County.

Finally, thanks to parents and supporters, who give up hours of their time getting lots of our junior and cadet players to training and tournaments etc. without you they wouldn’t be making the progress they are.

Huge congratulations to 3 MESC junior players at the Staffordshire schools individual finals today.

Ellis Roberts won the under 19’s boys singles and runner up was Momin Khan.

Charlie Ma won the Boys under 16 event, and Kai Wright was also the losing semi finalist.

Ellis and Charlie will now go on to represent Staffordshire in the English Schools finals later in the year. Fantastic achievement.

On Thursday we have players in both the boys and girls U13 and U11 events and are very hopeful of success there also.

Superb performances today at the cadet and junior competition in Tamworth. We had 18 kids there, and it was a long day for those who started at 9.30am and finished at 5pm!

Wonderful success for Ellis Roberts who won Group 1 against some very good players without losing a match (fantastic). Good luck next week representing the County in the Junior County Championships👍

Josh Smith was runner up in Group 2 and was absolutely outstanding all day, beating many players who were much older and more experienced than him. Olivia Ablewhite also finished an excellent 4th in Group 2, again beating much older players

Moosa Khan, was runner up in the Group 3 consolation event, and played superbly all day. Worked his socks off for all of his wins.

Sam Ford, was runner up in the Group 4 consolation event, and gets better every time he plays. Very young lad who competed really well again against older players. (Sorry Sam, I messed up your photo getting your medal).

Harry Hickin playing in his first tournament was runner up in the Group 5 consolation and should be incredibly proud of how he played.

Finally, a huge well done to all of our other players who have worked very hard to be there today, MESC TTC is very proud of you all.

Incredible performance from the MESC Parkinson’s team in the Parkinson’s Scottish International Open in Largs.

Competition has just finished and all the medals handed out.
Derek and Bob played each other in the Men's Plate, Derek won and went on to lose in the Qtr Final.
Bob played very well but unfortunately lost.
Dawn went into the Ladies Plate and won comfortably in the final.
Wendy managed to get to the Main Draw Final but couldn't quite get to grips with her opponent. A *magnificent* effort to reach a final in your first ever competition!!!!
They have done us proud and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and atmosphere, and made some friends as well. All are keen to do it again.
Rob finished off with a R/Up medal in the Mixed Doubles Plate.

Needless to say I am absolutely thrilled for all 5 of the MESC Parkinson’s team. It started 12 months ago with “do you think we’ll win any points”, to now bringing home 3 medals from an International competition. For once in my life, I’m lost for words.

Brilliant effort everyone - Malc👏👏🏓🏓

Today we took a number of players from MESC TTC Parkinson’s Group to play with and against players at Crewe Central’s TTC’s Parkinsons Group.

Everyone had a fantastic time and it is a credit to everyone how they overcome issues with their illness and develop into really good table tennis players.

It was a great day and super practice for some of our Parkinson’s players who are taking part in the Parkinson’s Scottish Open in August.

A special thanks to Jan Johns and Crewe Central TTC for hosting todays event, which had great competition, (obviously as well as everyone having a good laugh, plus lots of chat and biscuits!).

It’s really encouraging to have two clubs such as MESC and Crewe Central who share great friendship and mutual development of our sport from cadets and juniors all through the age and ability levels. Today was just one of a number of events where the two clubs have worked together for the benefit of our players.

Thanks again to all who took part. Special day👍👍🏓

Congratulations to our cadets and juniors who took part in the first Staffordshire Cadet and Junior Championships in many years on Saturday. It was a truly fantastic day, held at Tamworth TTC where nearly 70 youngsters took part. There was some brilliant table tennis on show from all our young players. We were so proud of everyone's sporting conduct throughout the matches, which although super competitive, were all played in good spirits. It was great to see so many smiling faces!

We had a few players missing due to holidays and other commitments, but our youngsters did brilliantly on the day.

Stand out performance was from Olivia Ablewhite who was the winner of the girls Under 13 title (and now 2025 County Champion). She was also runner up in the Girls under 15 event, plus runner up in the under 15 open event. Absolutely amazing performance.

Our superb results were:

U19 Open:
Consolation Winner: Jacob Nevard

U15 Open:
Consolation Runner-up: Elhadi Elknsi

U13 Open:
Runner-up: Olivia Ablewhite
Consolation Runner-up: Reggie Glazzard
Open Semi Final: Josh Smith

U15 Girls:
Runner-up: Olivia Ablewhite

U13 Girls:
Winner: Olivia Ablewhite

These results will be taken into consideration for next years County teams, alongside results from a Trials event the County intend on holding during September (details will be released in due course).

Great effort by everyone, including parents who transport these young players to events such as these.
