Huge congratulations to three of our amazing MESC Cadets who performed brilliantly today at the Staffordshire County Championships.
Olivia is Staffordshire U13 champion, and was absolutely outstanding in both the U13 championship and also in the U13 open event losing in the final to Josh also from MESC. She will now be representing Staffordshire Cadets during the coming season- super well done Liv👏👏🏓.
Josh had an amazing day, and was unbeaten in the boys and open U13 events. The final against Olivia from our club was a brilliant match for the spectators and they both have a super bright future. Congratulations to Josh on becoming Staffordshire Under 13 Boys Champion👏👏🏓.
Also Sofie had an an amazing day, losing in the final of the Girls U13 event to Olivia. Sofie was outstanding today and gets better every time she competes. She also had some superb wins in the U15 open event and only lost to the eventual winner 11-9 in the 5th set.
We are super proud of these 3 very talented cadets, as they have also had brilliant success this season in the British Cadet Club League, and the Girls British Cadet Club League.
Congratulations 🏓🏆🥇🥈🥇

Just wanted to send out huge congratulations to some of our female players competing at all levels during the last few weeks.
Dawn and Wendy competed in a Parkinson’s tournament at Brighton Table Tennis Club a few weeks ago and played super well. Both of our ladies are now picking up great experience and are competing in the Scottish open and World Parkinson’s Championships in Hamburg later in the year. Super proud of both of you. They will be joined by Rob and Derek in Scotland, and Rob is also competing in the World event. Good luck to all of you👏🏓.
This weekend, Olivia and Sofie competed in the second weekend of the Girls British Cadet Club League. They were unbeaten as a team in Division 2, Olivia was unbeaten and Sofie lost only one match. This was against some of the best cadets in the North West of England. They Sat top of Division 2 by Sunday evening, so this is a superb effort by two of our youngsters who were competing against much bigger clubs.
Final mention to Florence who came top of Band 6 at the recent Tamworth Cadet Ratings tournament. Unbelievable achievement as she is only 9 and will soon be pushing our older girls for a place in the BCCL teams.
Everyone at MESC is super proud of all of our players, but particularly proud of these 4 over the last 2 weeks. Brilliant effort🏓👏👏

Super proud of these 3 today. After last years promotion from Division 3 of the British Cadet Club League, they completed the 4th weekend of matches today. They finished third in the league and we’re considerably younger than most of their opponents.
Josh and Olivia have played all four weekends, and Reggie has played in 3. Unfortunately, Reggie was poorly today and so Sofie stepped up two Divisions and did brilliantly.
This super talented set of kids are the future of our club, and our sport in this area, and we are incredibly proud of them.
Great effort from the squad🏓👏👏👏

Brilliant performances by cadets who train at MESC TTC on the second day of the Staffordshire Schools individual championship today.
In the final of the U11 girls Florence Ablewhite beat Sonya Masjakina in a thrilling 5 set match. The match could have gone either way and both girls are a credit to our club.
In the final of the Girls U13’s, the winner was Olivia Ablewhite, who was a class above any other girl and won her final to match her sisters achievement.
In the boys U13 event the final was again contested by two boys who train at MESC. Josh Smith was the winner and he beat Leo Colclough in the final. Great effort again by Josh, and well done Leo in his first Staffordshire event.
Great effort by some our other players also, who made quarter and semi finals, but just missed out on a medal place.
So after two days of competition, cadets and juniors who train at MESC TTC have achieved the following:
Boys U19 Winner - Ellis Roberts
Boys U19 Runner Up - Momin Khan
Boys U16 Winner - Charlie Ma
Boys U13 Winner - Josh Smith
Boys U13 Runner Up - Leo Colclough
Girls U13 Winner - Olivia Ablewhite
Girls U11 Winner - Florence Ablewhite
Girls U11 Runner Up - Sonya Masjakina
We wish all the winners the very best of luck as they will now represent Staffordshire in the National Finals in March.
Also, a big thanks to all of the coaching staff who have worked really hard with these kids to make them some of the best cadet and junior players in the County.
Finally, thanks to parents and supporters, who give up hours of their time getting lots of our junior and cadet players to training and tournaments etc. without you they wouldn’t be making the progress they are.

Huge congratulations to 3 MESC junior players at the Staffordshire schools individual finals today.
Ellis Roberts won the under 19’s boys singles and runner up was Momin Khan.
Charlie Ma won the Boys under 16 event, and Kai Wright was also the losing semi finalist.
Ellis and Charlie will now go on to represent Staffordshire in the English Schools finals later in the year. Fantastic achievement.
