NSJYL Doug Brown City Finals 2026

Welcome to the Doug Brown City Finals Day 2026 - A huge thankyou to all our participating Venues and Teams for making this happen- lets celebrate the 2025/26 season!!

Tournament Rules

Round Robin Format

Each team will play each other once in a league format (twice if only 3 teams in a group). Top 2 from each group qualify for the next stage (if an age group where 3 groups are present then 2 x best 3rd place teams qualify additionally)

Winner of each group will be decided by the team with most points at the end of all games played.In the event of a tie on points in the group stage, placing will be decided based on head to head result, goals scored, and finally goal difference

Game time

6 in a league =10 minute games

5 in a league = 12 mins games

4 in a league = 20 mins games

3 in a league = 20 mins games (all teams play each other twice)

Only league registered players are allowed to participate (At venue registration - all team ID sheets will be provided by the venue and be checked against attenfing players).- please ensure players are present at registration . Please also have your £10.00 referee fee to hand (cash only)

Quarter Finals (where applicable), Semi Finals & Finals

U7, U8 & U9 -12 minutes one way (followed by penalties if needed)

U10 & Upwards - 20 minutes one way (followed by penalties if needed)

In the event of a draw in a knockout game, the match will be decided by penalties - no extra time will be played

U7 & U8 - 3 penalties per team and then sudden death

U9 - U16 - 5 penalties per team and then sudden death

Scoring -Group Stages

4 points for a win scoring 4 goals or more

3 points for a win

2 points for a score draw

1 point for a 0-0 draw

Please respect individual site rules (all individual hosting sites will have published their own houskeeping/agenda info for the day via facebook) , enjoy yourselves, lets have some great football and hopefully some sun!

Centre Finals Day!!!

The Annual Graham Hemmings Centre Finals celebrate the former chairman of Blurton Ladsandads, Graham Hemmings MBE - chairman of our centre from 1968 and involved in grassroots football for the best part of 40 years across North Staffordshire .

To our 350 plus players from Blythe Bridge JFC and Blurton Reds FC who attended today, a huge thank you. Winners or not in your age groups, you all absolutely smashed it…

Proud is an understatement ⚽️🏆 we hope we did you proud too….

Blythe Bridge Athletic are a new u15’s team for 25/26, and we’re looking for players of all abilities to join us.

We’ve got a great group of players on board for next season and we still have opportunities for more players to join our journey….

So if your son or daughter is moving into year 10 in September and looking for a great team environment to enjoy football, drop us a message and we’ll arrange to get you along to their training sessions ⚽️

U8 - 12.30pm

Please try not to arrive early in advance of registration times so we can manage car parking and traffic in and out of site 🚗

Registration will be conducted in front of the cafe - we have team sheets for all competing teams, so please don’t put us in a position where we have to query or refuse to allow non league registered or suspended players to play.

Dismayed and disgusted in equal measure to find that the centre has once again been targeted and broken into…

Fire doors smashed in, kitchen equipment destroyed, stock stolen, charity boxes smashed apart and pitches scattered with whatever was dropped as the thieves made off…

We’re part of Staffs LadsanDads - a registered charity, trying to do our best to allow local children’s teams to have a centre to play football from - volunteers run our centre and we rely on the goodwill of the local community to operate, so what drives anyone to break into the site and damage it is beyond us.

We’ll recover, we’ll replace what’s been destroyed and replace the stock but it still doesn’t make it any easier.

If anyone has any information on this please message us, or indeed contact the police. We believe this happened between 8pm Thursday evening and 7pm today (Friday)
