Very proud to announce our newest brown belt, James! He has worked so hard over a few months of grading syllabus, even in the absence of Instructor Donna during her illness. James has sparred pretty much everyone in the club, including Juniors, and has shown nothing but control and respect. He even sparred 2 people at once, then 3 and 30 seconds of 4 - all controlled but he never gave up! We are so proud of James, he really deserves his new brown belt! 👏

🤜 Great sessions back this week for Ladies Kickboxing and our Junior & Senior kickboxing classes. After a turbulent start to the year, we are back on track and ready to start working towards our next gradings! Let’s get that fitness back after Christmas and New Year and start the graft for some upcoming comps in 2026! OSS

Happy New Year Everyone 🥳

We hope you’ve all had a great time off, it was nice to see a few last Sunday, but we appreciate the snow put people off travelling.

⛄️ ❄️ ‼️ TONIGHT

As you will have seen, the forecast is not looking promising for tonight’s lessons with Storm Goretti hitting Stoke with heavy snow.
To precaution the club in advance, we will be cancelling the sessions to make sure people are not taking unnecessary travel as it may be dangerous conditions on the roads.

We will be back at it as normal from this Sunday to start your fitness back up and smash those New Year goals:

🤜 Junior and Senior Kickboxing classes 12-1pm

For those on memberships, tonight’s lesson can be replaced on Monday from 6:30-7:30pm. Please speak with your Instructor on Sunday to confirm your attendance.

AWARDS 2025 🏆

A big thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this session a fantastic way to close out the year! We also want to extend a huge appreciation to our incredible Instructor team for their unwavering dedication. Instructor Sophie, who powered through a knee surgery and still made it to teach despite not being able to drive. Instructor Donna, who has been in and out of the hospital throughout December yet still showed up with determination after breaking out of hospital especially for the awards! Instructor Rahat, for his hard work and commitment this year, and for attending the awards night to celebrate with us. And a special mention to Lucas, who returned to help with the seniors class – it was so great to have him back, and everyone loved it!

It’s been another year filled with remarkable achievements, competitions, and gradings 👏 The club is extremely proud of all our students and their hard work!

A huge thank you to all the parents who invest their time and resources to ensure their children have the opportunity to learn the art of martial arts with Stoke Freestyle. Your patience and understanding as we've navigated through surgeries and illnesses within the Instructor team mean so much. We truly are one big family, and your support plays a huge part in making this all possible!

The timetable for 2026 will remain unchanged, with some exciting posts to come over the festive season, so stay tuned for what’s in store!

Class’s today cancelled! ‼️

As you know, we very rarely cancel but recently we have had Instructor Donna very ill in hospital and also Sophie recovering from a knee operation.

Donna has reached out to as many of you as she can individually already.

For anyone in Junior or Senior classes who would like to come along to train tomorrow to make up for it, please come from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. This will not affect the Ladies class.

As Instructor Sophie has explained to anyone who attended the Thursday sessions, due to unforeseen circumstances this Sunday’s classes are cancelled. So basically, we’ve unintentionally given you all the perfect opportunity to start your Christmas shopping!

For anyone in Junior or Senior classes who would like to come along to train on Monday 7th to make up for it, please come from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. This will not affect the Ladies class.
