What a game it was!

🏏🌟 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT – QUDRATULLAH AHMADZAI 🌟🏏

What a weekend it was for Qudratullah Ahmadzai! 👏💚💛

Qudratullah was simply outstanding across both Saturday and Sunday, finishing the weekend with an incredible 8 wickets, proving to be a nightmare for opposition batters.

On Saturday, he tore through the batting line-up with exceptional figures of 4 wickets from 5.9 overs, including 1 maiden, conceding just 19 runs.

Not content with that, he backed it up on Sunday with another superb spell, claiming 4 wickets from 6 overs, including 2 maidens, for just 20 runs. He then rounded off a fantastic all-round performance with a valuable 28 runs with the bat.

Taking 8 wickets across two days while also contributing with the bat is a remarkable achievement and played a huge part in another successful weekend for Meir Heath.

A fantastic all-round effort and a thoroughly deserved Player Spotlight! 👏

🏏🌟 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT – JOSH RENSHAW 🌟🏏

What an all-round performance from Josh this weekend! 💚💛

Coming to the crease with the innings finely balanced, Josh produced a superb 50 from just 42 balls*, striking 5 fours and 2 HUGE sixes to help push the 1st XI to an imposing total.

Those sixes certainly caught everyone’s attention… who knew he had shots that big in the locker? 😉💥

He then backed it up with an outstanding display with the ball, returning figures of 9 overs, 2 maidens, 22 runs and 2 wickets. Josh kept things incredibly tight throughout the second innings, building pressure that made life difficult for the opposition.

And if that wasn’t enough, he also pulled off a brilliant diving caught and bowled, showing great reactions to complete a fantastic all-round day.

Batting, bowling and fielding—Josh delivered in every department. A thoroughly deserved Player Spotlight! 👏

A brilliant team effort from the 1st XI, with everyone playing their part with the bat.

With Wedgwood at 85-7 and then 110-8, it looked like the Heath were cruising towards the win… but they put up one hell of a fight!

It all came down to the FINAL OVER 😬

🏏 Wedgwood needed 20 runs

A brilliant catch from Aqib brought us one step closer before the final wicket fell LBW to seal a fantastic 13-run victory! 🔥👏

Another brilliant team performance from the 2nd XI!

The Heath bowlers were absolutely on it, dismissing J G Meakins for just 112.

Meakins came back with some strong bowling of their own and had us 7 wickets down, but another team effort with the bat saw us over the line, with Waz top scoring with 23.

For another week, the Heath put 200 runs on the board, and this one was a massive team effort with contributions throughout the batting order.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT – QUDRATULLAH AHMADZAI 🌟

A milestone to remember! 👏💚💛

Congratulations to Qudratullah Ahmadzai on bringing up his first-ever Meir Heath CC half-century in sensational style! 🏏🔥

Qudratullah blasted 51 from just 22 balls, lighting up the innings with an incredible strike rate of over 230. Finding the boundary for fun, he smashed 5 fours and 4 sixes, giving the Sunday XI exactly the momentum they needed.

A fearless display of attacking cricket and the perfect way to celebrate a maiden MHCC fifty. We hope it’s the first of many! 🌟

🏏 Sunday Round-Up 💚💛

A busy Sunday saw both our U13s and Sunday XI in action.

Our U13s were beaten by a strong Blythe side, but there were still plenty of positives to take away. A special mention goes to Hattie, who claimed a wicket before going on to pull on the senior shirt later in the day. 💪🌟

The Sunday XI battled hard to earn a draw against Oakamoor in an entertaining contest. There was a fantastic milestone for Qudratullah Ahmadzai, who brought up his first-ever MHCC half-century with a superb 50+ innings – hopefully the first of many in Heath colours! 👏🏏

Another huge shoutout goes to Hattie, who capped off an incredible day by adding two more wickets in the senior game, finishing the day with three wickets across two matches. What an effort! ⭐
