Healthy Chicken Stir-fry
Ingredients
200g/7oz brown rice
1 tbsp rapeseed oil
4 chicken thigh fillets, sliced
1 onion, sliced
2 garlic cloves, crushed
5mm/ยผin fresh root ginger, peeled and grated
1 head of broccoli, cut into small florets, the stalk peeled and sliced
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp Chinese five-spice powder
Method
Cook the rice according to the packet instructions.
Heat the oil in a wok over a high heat. Add the chicken and stir-fry for a couple of minutes.
Add the onion, garlic, ginger and broccoli stalk and a splash of water and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add the broccoli florets, soy sauce and five-spice and stir-fry for a further 2โ3 minutes.
Serve on top of the rice.

๐โโ๏ธ Want to improve your swimming technique and build endurance in the pool? Here are a few key tips to help you swim more efficiently and for longer:

Keep your body streamlined โ Try to keep your body as flat and horizontal as possible in the water. Looking straight down rather than forward can help keep your hips up and reduce drag.
โ
Focus on your breathing โ Breathe out steadily while your face is in the water and take quick, controlled breaths when turning your head. Holding your breath can cause you to tire more quickly.
โ
Lengthen your stroke โ Rather than taking lots of short, fast strokes, focus on reaching forward and pulling through the water effectively. A longer stroke can help you travel further with less effort.
โ
Use your legs efficiently โ Your kick should be steady and controlled, coming from the hips rather than the knees. Excessive kicking can waste energy and reduce endurance.
โ
Increase your distance gradually โ Add a few extra lengths to your swim each week. Small, consistent increases will help build stamina without overloading your body.
โ
Try interval training โ Swim one or two lengths at a faster pace, followed by one length at a slower recovery pace. Repeating this pattern can improve both endurance and speed.
Swimming regularly can improve cardiovascular fitness, strengthen muscles throughout the body, and increase endurance while being gentle on the joints. The more consistently you practise good technique, the more efficient and enjoyable your swimming will become. ๐๐ช
