⚽️ Pre-Season Friendly | Kidsgrove Athletic Lionesses U12 Gold
The girls took to the pitch today for their first pre-season friendly against Premiership side Eccleshall, and what a great test it proved to be.
They started brightly, once again showing why the hard work and commitment to training throughout the summer is so important. Their determination, passing and movement were excellent, creating some quick counter-attacks and plenty of positive moments, even if they couldn’t quite find the back of the net.
The second half became more challenging in the hot conditions, but the girls never stopped battling. They continued to fight for every ball, worked tirelessly for one another and kept looking to create chances. A couple of fortunate goals for the Premiership side ultimately put the game beyond reach, but the score certainly didn’t reflect the effort and determination our girls showed.
Every single player gave 100%, held their own against strong opposition and, most importantly, enjoyed every minute.
After the final whistle, the fun continued as the water guns came out for a well-earned cool down, followed by a cool box full of ice pops – the perfect way to finish a fantastic morning!☀️💦🍦
A huge thank you to Eccleshall for a competitive and enjoyable game. We now look forward to more pre-season friendlies, some 5-a-side tournaments, and the start of what promises to be another exciting season.
