The 2025/2026 season wrapped up in true Little Eagles style as several of our teams came together for our annual end‑of‑season picnic. It was a day filled with sunshine, smiles, football and fantastic community spirit. 🥳🎉🙌

It was a brilliant event packed with attractions for children and parents like medal and award presentations, a 5‑a‑side parent tournament and plenty of fun activities throughout the day. 👏👏👏

The 5‑a‑side tournament brought plenty of excitement, with the 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝑬𝒂𝒈𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝑭𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔 defeating the 𝑼𝟏𝟒 parents in a spirited final. Well played everyone! 👏💪👏

The youngest boys of Eastwood Hanley FC, our Little Eagles U7 managed by 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐤 and assisted by 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝, have had an incredibly busy and exciting few weeks, taking part in two tournaments. 👈💪👏

⏭️ 𝑾𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒅 𝑻𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕

The first challenge took place at Winsford Town, where the boys played some brilliant football and gained valuable experience.

Manager 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐧 shared his thoughts after the tournament:

Our very first tournament has just ended. To be honest, playing in a tournament where you don’t know your opponents and in a completely different region makes you feel stressed, and I felt it too.

I think this tournament was very well organized. I would even say it was tailored to our needs. The first match was a heavy loss, that's a fact, but against an opponent who has been playing and training for a year and a half. I think if it weren't for the quickly conceded goal, it wouldn't have been so bad. For a few minutes, we held them off.

The second match was a victory against Winsford Town, and the third match secured us a solid 3rd place in the group. The last match in the group was also against a hellishly strong opponent with even more aggressive coaches.

It was a very good experience. We finished in 3rd place, which gave us a promotion to the knockout stage of the Europa League.

We won the quarter-finals of the Europa League, and that’s when I slowly started thinking about the Europa League final, only I didn’t notice that the sun started to heat up the most.

Some of our players were simply exhausted. At the beginning of the semi-finals, we had a chance; you looked like a dominating team, but unfortunately, one of the counterattacks through which we conceded a goal cut off our breath a bit. Nevertheless, we opened up later, but we couldn't win the match.

The Europa League final - it could have been better, it could have been worse.

⏭️ 𝑴𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝑭𝑪 𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕

The second tournament took place last Sunday at the Macclesfield FC pitches, where the boys once again showed their quality.

They secured third place in the group, with two wins, two losses and one draw.

This earned them a spot in the quarter‑finals, where they faced the team that eventually went on to win the entire tournament.

Despite the loss, the boys played fantastic football and it was a very close, hard‑fought match.

And with three more tournaments lined up, the Little Eagles are flying into the new season full of energy and belief.

Each competition is helping them to be more experienced and grow stronger.

Last Sunday, the Eastwood Hanley FC U8 Blue team, led by manager 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬, travelled away for their final league fixture of the season against B𝒍𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝑱𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝑼𝟖, delivering an exciting performance from start to finish. 👏👏👏

Last Sunday, the Eastwood Hanley FC Little Eagles U7, managed by 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐤, played a friendly match against 𝑵𝒆𝒘𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑼𝟕. 👈

It was another brilliant opportunity to prepare for the league season kicking off in September. 💪

The boys are getting into the routine of matchdays. This will shape them for the months ahead.

Today we had the opportunity to play a very valuable match. We played against a good team.

Our fourth match and many positive moments. I think the team is heading in the right direction.

We just need to train hard. Work on concentration, game organization, and gaining experience.

Last Sunday, the Eastwood Hanley FC Little Eagles U14, led by 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐤 and supported by 𝐊𝐚𝐳 𝐊𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐮𝐫𝐮𝐛𝐚, 𝐆𝐫𝐳𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐳 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐜𝐳𝐚𝐤, and 𝐑𝐨𝐲, hosted 𝑺𝒊𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝑨𝒕𝒉𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝑱𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒓 𝑼𝟏𝟒𝒔 for a friendly at our home pitch, and delivered a brilliant performance. 💪👏💪

Manager 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐧 was delighted with both the result and the progress shown.

Despite playing on a larger field with slightly bigger goals, the boys adapted well and showed strong physical preparation.

Manager 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐧 shared his thoughts after the game:

We played against the 4th team of the 4th division. The victory is very satisfying, as well as the debut of new players.

I must point out that we played on a larger field and with slightly bigger goals.

The positive thing is that we are well-prepared physically. The worrying fact is that we have moments when our mentality drops. This is an issue we need to work on.

Fortunately, the team reacted positively, and we dominated the opponent in the end.

I must praise Ianys, Fabio, Daniel, Umar and Jason for the great game.

A brilliant performance from the boys. Their attitude to never give up, find space when attacking, and put in strong defensive blocks and tackles was outstanding.

Despite having only one substitute, the boys showed incredible determination.

Even when players picked up knocks, they took a quick breather and were eager to get straight back on the pitch.

That commitment and fighting spirit made a huge difference.
