To all of my pregnant ladies out there that have been juggling the idea of putting fitness down until baby has arrived.. Here are a few reasons why you shouldn't.
Do you actually know how beneficial fitness is during pregnancy? This is not only for your mind and body but also for your unborn baby?
Well I'm about to give you a few reasons to slip back into that gym wear you put at the back of your drawer, pop those trainers back on and get back into the world of fitness with confidence.
Modern mums are busier than ever which can make pregnancy feel even more challenging.
With your body constantly making changes to adapt a temporary habitat for your growing unborn baby, you may be experiencing constant fatigue, discomfort and you may find yourself often sitting there thinking, ‘is it really worth it though?’
I'm here to say ‘YES, yes it is worth it’.
Staying fit during pregnancy can actually help your body prepare for the demands of a busy schedule while also having many benefits to your own physical and mental health.
Prenatal exercise is highly encouraged and studies show that it is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your baby.
● Prenatal fitness may improve long term health for you and your baby.
Exercising during pregnancy can reduce the risk of ‘juvenile diabetes’ and ‘neonatal macrosomia’, which is babies being born too large.
●It can help prepare you and your baby for the demands of labour.
Studies show that mothers who exercise during pregnancy are able to tolerate the stresses of labour such as contractions better than mothers who didn't exercise during pregnancy.
●You are less likely to gain excess weight.
A no brainer right? Excess weight in pregnancy is associated with the risk of several complications such as ‘diabetes’, ‘preeclampsia’ and ‘caesarean deliveries’.
●Boosts that feel good mood.
You are only one workout away from a good mood. Exercise releases those feel-good endorphins, boosts your mood and can really help you fight away those hormonal swings that we will all experience at some point during pregnancy.
●Reduces stress, anxiety and depression.
Not only can exercise help to boost your mood BUT those feel-good endorphins your body releases can also help to reduce stress, anxiety and depression all of which are not healthy for you or your baby during pregnancy.
●Reduces aches and painsLower back pain and sciatica are the most commonly experienced pains and aches during pregnancy and exercise can really help to alleviate these areas of pain that come from all the physical changes during pregnancy.
●Recovery time and labour may be quicker
Studies show that having a stronger pelvic floor can reduce labour and delivery time as well as a faster recovery. Mothers who exercised during pregnancy also seem to cope better with the demands of motherhood.
I have gone into the basics of just 7 reasons why expectant mothers should either continue to exercise during pregnancy or start to exercise during pregnancy. There are many more benefits to staying fit during pregnancy but these are the ones that stood out to me the most and are areas that I feel a lot of expectant mothers may stress or worry about the most.

Well this came around much quicker than I expected to say the least. To think that I have had a whole year off from my personal training to care for my beautiful son, I am definitely more than ready to bounce back into business, get some normality back and do what I love.

Had some really great turnouts with my smaller group sessions these last few weeks.
If your fresh on the scene to fitness or using the gym🚴♂️🏋🏾♀️, dont have the confidence and motivation to just get up and go🤦♀️🤦♂️, or just want a little more personal guidance that's more affordable 🤔💁♀️or maybe you just want to train with a friend to bring more fun and motivation into your sessions👥.

Yet again another fantastic double up session this afternoon with Jenny Stevens and Antoinette.
Really chuffed with how hard they both worked together through this session💪🏾, especially considering how fresh on the scene Jen is with the whole fitness thing😅.
Gotta give you both credit for smashing AMRAP burn out at the start🔥🔥.
I hope you both enjoyed this session as much as I enjoyed training you throughout it🏋🏾♀️🏋🏾♀️.

Well I'm beginning to find my feet at TGT and am settling in well.👣
Had 2 amazing group sessions last week with some very enthusiastic and unique individuals.
2 lovely ladies Hayley and Nina smashed the arms and back session on Wednesday 🏋🏾♀️💪🏾 Antoinette, Becky and Gemma pumping their ass and abs on Thursday.
Really enjoyed training these amazeballs ladies and I'm really excited to continue with more group sessions.

I am new to the industry but bring along with me a passion for helping others as well as introducing people to new training experiences that will benefit their fitness journey.
I haven't always been fit and active, as a teenager I wasn't involved in too much physical activity. In reflection this was mainly because of my circle of friends at the time and the fact I didn't really value the importance of fitness and training.
My life began to change around the age of 18 when I was introduced to martial arts which is where I found my true passion for training. Through regular training this became a new way of life for me what i saw first hand the benefits and results that regular and structured activity can bring. Watching my general fitness improve and my physique transform I gained a greater focus and began to see a whole new purpose for keeping fit🤸🏽♀️.
Personally experiencing the changes I had to make to incorporate a new way of living is something that I want to be able to translate into other peoples lives to help them like fitness had helped me. I feel I am am specially equipped to help the people who have had the struggles I have had in making fitness a way of life. Being a mother👩👧, holding down a job💼✒, and dealing with life struggles can make life style change difficult and I would love to be able to help people see more than just mediocre results in the gym. 🏋🏾♀️
