FIRST ROAD TEST. MORE THAN JUST ONE GAME. 🚌🏀

NP Academy experienced our first away game—travelling together, adjusting to an unfamiliar court and learning how to maintain our standards in a different environment.

The road taught us some important lessons:

🔹 Settle into the game quicker
🔹 Communicate through adversity
🔹 Stay connected when momentum changes
🔹 Trust the work and compete together

We didn’t get everything right—and that’s part of developing a young team. What matters is that we reflect, learn and return better every week.

Individual growth. Team progress.

Keep building. Keep improving. 🟠🔵

Today is another opportunity for our young players to compete, learn and grow.

We’re proud of how they showcased their pre-season work in our opening game, but development is never about one performance or one result. Each game gives us new information about what’s working, what needs improving and how we can strengthen the Next Play system.

Our focus remains on the process: making better decisions, playing together, competing with purpose and continuing to raise our standards.

No shortcuts. No chasing quick results. Just consistent work that helps every player develop and gives the team the best chance of winning long-term.

🎓🏀 SCHOLARSHIP SECURED!

Massive congratulations to Filip Struziak, who has been awarded a Tier 4 Sports Scholarship for the 2026/27 academic year with the University of Staffordshire High Performance Academy.

Filip’s hard work, commitment and development have earned him this opportunity—and we’re proud to see him take another step forward.

This is what the journey is about. Keep working. Keep developing. Keep creating opportunities.

DEVELOPING PLAYERS. RAISING STANDARDS.

Today is bigger than one game. 🏀

Tonight marks Next Play Basketball’s first game of the season—but this journey started with a much bigger purpose.

We created Next Play to give talented UK players who had gone under the radar somewhere to develop, gain exposure and create their next opportunity.

Since January:

🌍 Players have gained exposure to coaches globally
🏀 Two players have reached Division 1
🎓 Three players have joined college academies
📋 Two people have qualified as coaches
🔥 We’ve worked at an international camp alongside an NBA skills trainer
📍 Next Play sessions now run across four areas of Stoke-on-Trent
🤝 We’ve built a partnership with NSCG

Wins and losses will never define what we do.

What makes Next Play different is that we invest in everyone who walks through our doors.

Every player. Every journey. Every next play.
