From “Mike No Lessons Barber”… to a 5.5 handicap! 😂⛳️

Mike came to me at the start of April playing off 15. A former Greenway Hall junior, he’d had plenty of time away from the game before getting back into golf properly last year.

There was just one condition… apparently it wasn’t a lesson. I was simply allowed to “observe and give a few tips” without it becoming an official lesson. 😂

A few “not lessons” later and the WHS index doesn’t lie 15 down to 5.5.

He’s picked up several weekend competition wins along the way and is now a regular sight on the Sunday evening results page at Greenway Hall Golf Club.

Mike is also a good friend of mine, which makes seeing how far he’s come even better.

Very proud of you mate. 👏

From the wooden spoon… to 41 points and a trophy! 🏆⛳️
John Cahill came to me for lessons at Greenway Hall Golf Club in November 2025.

After 14 seasons with the Dudsons Pottery Golf Society and not much silverware to show for it, we got to work, 5 lessons and a playing lesson later, John went out and won with 41 points!

Seeing someone take what we’ve worked on in lessons and put it into practice on the course is exactly what coaching is all about for me.

Very, very proud of you John!

Working on the driver today at Greenway Hall Golf Club.

I’m in my first year of my PGA coaching journey and spending a lot of time on the range testing and improving. This is the same approach I bring into my coaching.

I’m currently offering lessons at Greenway Hall, focusing on simple, clear advice to help you hit the ball better and feel more confident off the tee.
More of the journey to come.

Today felt like the right day to finally show up online.

It’s my birthday today and I’m in my first year of my PGA coaching journey, so it feels like the perfect time to start sharing a bit more of life on the course.

Golf has always been a huge part of my life. This page will be a space where I share what I’m learning, simple coaching thoughts, and the day to day moments that come with trying to get better at this game.
If you enjoy golf or you’re working on your own game, you’re in the right place.

Here’s to a new year and a new chapter.
