Stonehaven Athletic 2-2 HR Nicolls

We started on the front foot dominating the game going up 1-0 after 10 minutes when a sublime through ball by A. Whyte was met by the on rushing E. Gordon and he absolute smashed the ball past the keeper into the roof of the net.

The game then took a turning point around 35 minutes in when the ref who throughout the game would constantly blow the whistle for any contact made gave a straight red to B. Duncan after a comment made for yet another poor decision made. We seen the half out comfortably.

HT 1-0

Nicolls changed their shape going more attacking which we took our time to adjust to being a man down. They got level 5 minutes into the half and went ahead 15 minutes later. Credit has to be given to the lads us they dug deep and we got back level with 10 minutes to go when a free kick from L. Ross was met by big brother C. Ross who’s header looped over the visiting goalkeeper.

Half chances for both teams would come to get the winner but it remained a point a piece.

FT 2-2

Difficult one to decide if two points dropped or a good point gained. No doubt at all we would have won the game with eleven men on the park but given the circumstances can be viewed a good point playing more than a half with a man down.

Second defeat in a row.

Glendale 5-2 Stonehaven Athletic

We started well and went ahead around 20 mins in when a C. Gauld long throw went over the defender to D. Knowles who cut inside well to then find the bottom corner. For some reason this made us stop playing any football at all and the home side scored two before the break.

HT 2-1

Second half didn’t get any better and was a hard watch. Glendale scored a further two though we did get one back with 10 minutes to go through M. Askildsen scoring his first goal for the club. We conceded again with 5 minutes to go after throwing numbers up the park to try salvage something from the game.

FT 5-2

Probably one our poorest performances for a few years. Thankfully with the midweek game done we can work on things at training this week.

MOTM - Nobody

Today we face Glendale at Corbie Park as we look to bounce back after the defeat midweek.

First defeat of the season.

Stonehaven Athletic 0-2 Beacon Rangers

First half was an even affair with both teams having plenty chances. On the stroke of half time the Beacon striker curled one into the top corner from just inside the box.

HT 0-1

Five minutes into the second half we conceded again this time a through ball to the speedy striker and he rounded C. Hunter to knock the ball into the net.

This knocked us a bit and we just didn’t get going. Forcing it far to much with Beacon holding firm through to the final whistle.

FT 0-2

A disappointing second half performance and we will look to learn from this in our next game on Saturday.

MOTM - D. Knowles

Back in league action tonight as we face Beacon in the last of our midweek fixtures.

We’ll be looking to carry on our good start to the season and hopefully pick up another positive result! 🔴🔵
