First aid starts with looking at the whole situation.

DO: Take a moment to assess what is happening.
DON'T: Rush in without checking whether the scene is safe.
DO: Get appropriate help.
DON'T: Assume someone else has called 999.
DO: Reassure the casualty.
DON'T: make the situation more stressful by panicking around them.

Not every workplace needs exactly the same first aid training.
Your workplace, risks and staffing arrangements all matter.

Mark offers practical first aid training designed around real situations rather than simply sitting through slides.

From workplace first aid to emergency and outdoor settings, the right training should leave you more confident than when you arrived.

Ever feel like you're putting MORE effort in… but getting LESS out of your paddling? 🛶

So you paddle harder.
Pull harder.
Try to go faster.

But more effort isn't always the answer.

Sometimes the problem is something much smaller:
Your body position.
The timing of your stroke.
Where your paddle enters the water.

Or a habit you've developed without even noticing.

That's one of the benefits of 1:1 paddlesport coaching.

Someone else can see what you can't.

Then instead of simply telling you to “paddle better”, we can work on the specific changes that could help you become more efficient, confident and controlled on the water.

Whether you paddle kayak, canoe or SUP, coaching isn't just for beginners.

It's for paddlers who want to progress.

📌 Save this for the next time you find yourself simply paddling harder.

👇What's one part of your paddling you'd love to improve? Tell me below.

An acronym is only useful if you understand what sits behind it. In first aid, simple frameworks help us stay focused when things become stressful. The goal isn't to memorise endless information. It's to know what to do next. Save this one for later.

It’s an easy assumption to make.

First aid training isn't about turning your whole team into medical experts.

It's about giving people the skills and confidence to step forward rather than step back when someone needs help.

And that confidence comes from learning and practising what to do.

Mark offers practical workplace first aid training, including Emergency First Aid at Work and First Aid at Work courses.

📌 Save this as a reminder to check your workplace first aid cover.

Or share it with the person responsible for training in your workplace.

🩼Good first aid starts before the emergency.

Knowing where your first aid kit is.
Knowing who your first aiders are.
Knowing how to summon help.
Knowing what to do while help is coming.

These small things can make a stressful situation much easier to manage.

The moment I realised clothing doesn't matter in a life-threatening emergency...

I was teaching a first aid course when the topic of CPR came up.
Someone hesitantly asked:
"What if I have to remove a woman's clothing to use a defibrillator?"

It's a question many people think but rarely ask.
And my answer is always the same.

If someone's heart has stopped, they are clinically dead.
At that moment, preserving life is the priority.

Not preserving modesty.
Not worrying about embarrassment.
Not wondering what other people might think.

A defibrillator can't work through clothing.Chest compressions can't wait while we debate what's appropriate.

And then I realised...
Many people don't hesitate because they don't care.
They hesitate because they're worried about doing the wrong thing.

But here's the reality:
No one has ever been grateful that a bystander protected their modesty instead of saving their life.

100% of women would choose living over modesty.
Every. Single. Time.

That's why first aid training matters.
Because when seconds count, confidence replaces hesitation.
And confidence saves lives.

❤️ Clothing is temporary. A life is not.
