CUP FINAL DAY….
League cup final v Tividale, the match was played at Dudley Sports in front of a bumper crowd.
After winning the league and finishing 7 points clear of our opponents, yesterday we knew it would be a hard game as Tividale are always up for the fight.
This showed as it was clear to see Tividale were playing to their best levels and ourselves were way off the required performance needed. Scrappy first half with both teams hitting the woodwork and our opponents having a goal ruled out for offside.
2nd half - we came out much better, however Tividale won a free kick and took the lead from a header which looped over Benna.
Tividale could and probably should have gone 2-0 up, but was prevented by a great save from Benna at the back post!
We then levelled the game through a wonderful left footed strike by Alfie Weston, who cut inside from the right wing and lashed the ball into the top corner. The game changed at this moment and we felt we could go on to win it, and with the best striker in the league and our top goalscorer Logan back from injury we knew we had a chance, he duly obliged by outpacing the Tividale defence and lifting the ball over the advancing keeper to make it 2-1….. the game fizzled out with very few clear cut chances either end which resulted in the boys clinching the league cup which in return provided the “DOUBLE” (league and cup winners)
Massive credit to Tividale who I’m sure pleased their managers in performing the best they can and on another day could have won, on a personal note I want to thank Tividale for challenging us all the way especially in the league as it was clear to see we were the best 2 teams in the division.
Thanks to everyone for all the support today and throughout the season for the boys.
Finally- Credit to the players for achieving the “DOUBLE” as it’s hard week in week out to maintain the level of performances needed to achieve what they have.

Yesterday we hosted Gornal Allstars in our last league game of the season after securing the league title.
Over the season the boys have gone from strength to strength and to win 17/18 games is an unbelievable achievement and they have thoroughly deserved what they have achieved so far.
The boys started very quickly and played some great football finding little pockets and holes in the oppositions defence, this led to the 1st goal scored by Sam who was found from a great through ball and he calmly slotted home to open the scoring.
We continued to dominate and soon made it 2-0 with some brilliant football down the right hand side, the ball was pulled back to Alfie Weston on the edge of the box who fired it home.
2 soon became 3 and then 4 with excellent strikes from both Didlock and Jobee Mills from outside the box.
We continued to dominate and further goals came from Sam, Didlock and Jayden making it 7-0 at half time.
We continued to push in 2nd half and didn’t give the opposition nothing, we found ourselves scoring a further 6 goals in the 2nd half with Benna coming out of goal to finish the season with a 2nd half hat trick.
Sam scored another 2 goals 1 of which has got to go down as one of the contenders for goal of the season curling the ball into the top corner with the outside of his left foot and Keegan wrapping up the scoring.
This performance has topped off an amazing league campaign with only 1 more objective and that is to win the cup against Tividale next Sunday.
