This is a hard one to write, but after 5 years of being back fixing bikes. I am calling the end.
In October I had a massive downturn in business, it completely flatlined for a week (I had no calls, messages or emails). It forced me to go and get a ‘proper’ job working for someone else, not in the bike industry. The cocking about and completely unprofessional approach by our government ( ) in relation to the budget stopped people spending altogether. I did envisage working part time and then doing bikes in between however I came across a very convenient well paid job on my doorstep which was full time. Trying to manage the bike repair whilst working full time has proved impossible and as such I am calling the end to WL Bikecare. It’s hugely sad and it hurts me deeply writing this as I tried so hard to make it work.
I am really sorry to everyone who I am letting down but I just simply do not have the time.
I’ll still be out riding occasionally so may see some of you out and about.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work on your bikes, the good times truly outweighed the bad, Tara a bit 🫡

Brilliant example here of how to get home after a derailleur hanger snappage from Gareth 👌🏻 and chain tool and a spare quick link are essentials in my opinion on any ride.
Unfortunately I didn’t take during or after pictures because I’m rubbish like that but a new hanger and chain and he’s back up and running

Seized front derailleurs (such as this Shimano 105) is a common occurrence during our winters, keep them clean and a good blast with WD40 or another similar penetrating oil keep them running

Been knocked out of it with a cold 🤧 this last week but back into it now and starting to feel a bit more human. Quick little job this morning for myself .. cleaning this chain … but not a bicycle chain!

Never had this as a reason a headset wouldn’t tighten up properly. That’s the middle remnants of an old star nut on the bolt?

Always remember to use l**e if you don’t want a dry and crusty bottom bracket 😜
