🎉 Women's & Girls' Day Raffle Prize Appeal 🎉💛🏏💙

Next Sunday, we're hosting our Women's & Girls' Day at Himley CC, and we're hoping to make it our biggest and best event yet!

As part of the day, we'll be running a raffle to help fund the event.

We're looking for raffle prizes and would be incredibly grateful for any donations, big or small. Whether it's a gift voucher, hamper, experience, product, or service, every contribution will make a real difference.

A brilliant performance from the girls tonight!

Emily got us off to a fantastic start, setting the momentum with a superb knock, closely followed by an excellent innings from Harriet. Both girls finished in the 40s, with Emily making 48 and Harriet 43. It was also great to see the enthusiasm, communication, and positive calling between the batters throughout the innings.

In the field, Barnt Green had a strong top four, but our girls did a great job of restricting them and keeping the scoring under control. I was particularly impressed with the support, discipline, etiquette, and enthusiasm shown by everyone tonight.

There were wickets for Katie (2), and one each for Darcie, Harriet, and Emilia, while Emily added a smart run out. All of the girls bowled well and fielded brilliantly, contributing to a strong all-round team performance.

A special well done to debutant Bella, who bowled and fielded superbly and looked right at home in the team.

Last but certainly not least, Georgia stepped up behind the stumps and was a natural wicketkeeper. She took on the role for her teammates without hesitation and was encouraging and supportive throughout the evening.

Overall, it was a really good evening for the girls, and they should all be very proud of their efforts.

She batted brilliantly, claimed her first wicket, and led from the front as always.

Not only does she go above and beyond for our section and keeps everything running smoothly, but she also balances work and family life with incredible dedication.

Thank you to everyone who turned out today at our annual charity cricket day. We couldn’t have been luckier with the weather and we can’t thank everyone who came enough.

A huge thank you to Astwood Bank Cricket Club Swindon Cricket Club Belbroughton CC Himley CC Romsley & Hunnington Cricket Club & Relentless Reneages Cricket Club for playing a huge part in the day in our men’s and women’s cricket tournaments for the Alfie Johnson Memorial Cup and Jim Hingley Charity Cup 🏆🏆

After losing the toss and being put in to bat on a tricky wicket, we got off to the worst possible start, losing opening batter Izzy C to the very first ball of the innings.

Maisie and Caitlin steadied things brilliantly, seeing off the opening bowlers and putting together a partnership of 40. There were several positive contributions throughout the innings, with Caitlin top-scoring with 18, Maisie making 13, Annie adding 14, and Charlotte marking her debut with a valuable 8 runs.

We finished on 85, which was probably 30–40 runs short of a competitive total in truth.

With the ball, we started well as Lucy and Caitlin bowled some excellent spells, beating the bat on several occasions and asking plenty of questions of the opposition batters.

The team showed great character and there are encouraging signs as we look ahead to next week's Vitality Plate fixture against Berkswell which will be played on Sunday at 16:00

Player of the Match was Caitlin, who led from the front with a captain's innings and a strong performance with the ball.

Congratulations Caitlin you sure are a great player!

Lovely bumping into these lovely ladies last night at Edgbaston whilst watching England ladies win!

Look forward to welcoming them to Himley soon!

Sunday sees a busy schedule for the section!

At home we have two games taking place with the the under 11's playing Bewdley at 14:00 and also the ladies playing Wightwick and Finchfield also at 14:00.
You will be spoilt for choice.

The softball ladies are also playing at Oldswinford CC for a charity softball festival at 12:00.
