This Saturday, we invite you to a clash of 2 local clubs that haven't met at 1st XV level since 1970. This mouth-watering Junior Cup game is expected to be one of the hottest rugby tickets of the year, with North West bragging rights at stake. Please do your very best to come along and see our brand new clubhouse at Bradley Way, enjoy a pint, a burger, an ice cream and cheer on your team.

A STRONG DAY ACROSS THE CLUB!

In only their second fixture of the season in Championship 2, our 1st XV recorded an impressive 43–17 victory over Randalstown.

The winning margin could have been even greater, with a few areas for the lads to work on ahead of the next fixture. That is the mentality we want throughout the club—enjoy the result, learn from it and keep improving and progressing every week. 💪

At Bradley Way, our U18s had a real ding-dong battle with Banbridge, narrowly coming up short after a hugely competitive game.

Meanwhile, at Strabane Academy, our U16s and U14s produced dominant displays in their pre-season friendlies.

A sincere thank-you to all the Banbridge players and coaches for making the journey to Strabane. The games were played in a great spirit and provided valuable preparation for everyone involved.

Thank you also to everyone who supported our teams and helped make the day possible—from the bus drivers and sandwich makers to the hot-dog cooks and all the volunteers working behind the scenes. Your help is truly appreciated and never taken for granted. 👏

Next week we welcome City of Derry to Strabane. Let’s fill the sidelines, in what is lining up to be a great local derby!

Strabane 1st XV travel to Randalstown tomorrow for their second round league game versus a club we used to face very often, but who have climbed above us in recent seasons. A few changes to the squad from last week, gives the new lads a chance to impress and claim their spot. The youth section are at home to the very strong Banbridge RFC, with the 18s playing at Bradley Way and the 16s and 14s at Strabane Academy, all games kicking off at 11.15am. Your support at any of these games would be very much appreciated.

Standing at a massive 6ft 5in, the Kiwi native can operate at No.8 or centre. A big, powerful ball carrier who will hopefully be ready to make his senior debut in the next few weeks. We can’t wait to see the big man doing his thing! 💥

It’s brilliant to see players who have come through the Strabane youth system starting to make their mark and push the club forward.

Hayden Scott, Cameron Huey, Callum Kelly, Rhys Brown and Jonny Orr are five young lads who have shown real promise and are going to have a massive role to play in the senior setup this season.

It’s also great to see these young lads following in the footsteps of Tom McGilloway and Nathan Russell, who made the step up from youth rugby into the senior setup the year before and have continued to develop.

That gives us seven homegrown players making their way into the senior ranks over the last couple of seasons — a fantastic sign for the future of Strabane Rugby Club.
