Thats the next lot of peeler crab in the freezer, cracking bait good sizes and £2.30 each. We have 300 in stock and its first come basic, i will reserve them but need payment up front via our card machine!

Good afternoon anglers and danglers, its been a while so here is a wee update. Our bait freezers are back up to nearly full after last weeks hammering and the ragworm has just arrived through the front door. As some have found out this week while we usually get the rag on a Thursday its not always guaranteed due to suppliers and couriers so we are only taking firm bookings for rag to be collected on a Friday around lunchtime!
Also as a small "local" tackle shop of 40m2 we dont have acres of room to keep massive stocks of every branded rod in like "Savage Gear" for example just so you can come in once a year and buy one rod maybe. If you dont see what you want ask nicely and we may be able to help. Or come speak to me in person not have a go at my misses!!

The fishing has been picking up pace with Bass being caught on a regular basis, mackerel and tope are starting to make daily appearances along with all the usual species like Pollack n coalie from boat and shore marks. plenty of Wrasse and mini species showing to all around the region so plenty to come along and target.
The boats Lucky Dip II and Abyss are working well with the mackerel trips starting next week up Loch Ryan starting at £35 each for 3hrs.

Big news too, we are picking up the first of 300 frozen peeler crab tonight so they will be in the shop for sale Saturday morning at £2.50 each. local caught, not imported from abroad!!

Gone Fishing, shop back open 0900 on 26th February

Fresh ragworm just delivered into the shop, the weather is looking dire but folks are out on the hunt as plenty of species getting caught all around the region.
The Stranraer & District AA has also placed a card machine in the shop now to make taking payments easier, no more cash required for permits and day tickets, but we will still be welcoming cash for both the club and the shop purchases.
Fresh maggot and dendrobheana worms available in the shop all the time.
Loads of new stock in from Penn, Mitchel, Pro logic and savage gear for both sea and coarse with a big upshift in rods and reels for the coarse angler .
Also taking in some of the fantastic Berkley Nymph lures , the perch love em, the Trout love em and from watching some anglers use them they have taken a few other species too. A nice active alternative to power baits or lures!

Lots of great new stock in the shop (eventually) including Penn, Savage gear, Pro logic, Berkley plus a great range of good used gear just in and priced to sell.

With the onset of shorter days and busy home lives we are closing early on a few days a week so we can get out fishing. This is our winter schedule right through to the end of January.

Morning anglers n danglers. With me down south still due to family commitments we are going to be half day open this week. Tuesday to thursday 0900 till 1300. Friday back to normal 0800 till 1700. Enty of fresh rag still in the shop plus maggots n garden worms for the coarse anglers.

Get booking early for 2026 as the slots fill up quickly, we have already entered a team for the boat species comp including a keen junior angler from the local area.
