Born on 1st June 1946, Richard Rhys Evans rode his first winner on Marchairy on 16th October 1965 at Towcester. The horse had been bought out of a Stratford seller for 280 guineas and was trained by Richard's father, Glynn. A fantastic day for the Evans team yesterday with double up celebrations! Billy won the Northern Gigafinal and qualified for the Grand Final of the Delancey School Chess Challenge and then Croeso Cymraeg, the gift that keeps giving, won his 8th race at 8 years old in the D & N Construction Handicap at Salisbury.
An excellent run and another win for A Sure Welcome, ridden by Luke Morris this afternoon at Windsor in the Fitzdares Sprint Series Handicap! What a fighter - his 15th career win, a fantastic achievement! Huge congratulations to John Spearing and his owners, The Kinnersley Partnership 3! 🏆🍾🥾
