Missed you all this week (although I've enjoyed a much-needed week off from running this week!)
Big thank you to Tom and Rowena for leading this week. Lovely to see all those smiles π
Run Talk Run will be on again next Tuesday (and every Tuesday after) - meeting at 6.15pm in the Lifeways garden for a gentle and chatty 5km jog. Come as you are. No need to wear a fake smile or pretend to be "fine". Whatever kind of day you've had, come and spend some time with friends, and share what you feel comfortable sharing.
Much love,
Lis x

We weren't sure whether to wear waterproofs or sunglasses... luckily it stayed dry throughout last night's run, and the sun came out periodically βοΈ π
A big welcome to Laura and Rob who came along for the first time yesterday. We hope you enjoyed it π
Also great to see lots of you who haven't been able to come for a while β₯οΈ
Lots of running events happening this month, so best of luck to everyone taking part in something over the coming weeks.
Same time, same place next week!

After a frustrating day, a very relaxed run and catch up with these lovely people was the perfect antidote!
I've really been struggling with running motivation this year. I used to love solo running, but this year's training block has been the hardest ever. Thank goodness for Tuesday evenings, where I get to run with some of the loveliest people while chatting about this, that and everything. Sometimes we get so engrossed in our conversations we even forget to run π
For anyone who would like to join our weekly Run Talk Run group in Stratford, we meet on Tuesday evenings at Lifeways Therapy Centre. Sign up for free on Heylo app or message for details.
With an emphasis on social connection for mental health, there's no pressure to run fast. It's a chatty, inclusive jog with some intermittent walking so everyone can keep up.
Have a lovely bank holiday weekend everyone, and stay cool π

I don't know what was happening in these photos, and I haven't asked (yet). All I can say is it looks like Run Leader Tom is having a lot of fun lying on the grass!
Missed you all yesterday, but my legs appreciated a few extra days rest after the Tempo Trail events this weekend.
Looking forward to seeing lots of you next week - same time, same place (6.15pm in the back garden at Lifeways Therapy Centre). Sign up for free on Heylo (link in bio).

A little group of five for last night's RTR. So lovely to catch up with you all!
It's a big weekend coming up, with Goi running the London Marathon, and several of the group running the Shakespeare half. Good luck to all of you, and most importantly... ENJOY!
Also wanted to say a big well done to Megan for taking part in her first triathlon last weekend. My swimming abilities are somewhere in line with doggy paddle so I am in awe of anyone attempting any kind of triathlon event! Amazing achievement Megan!
Have a lovely week everyone, and enjoy the sunshine π π

Thanks to Rowena and Tom for leading last Tuesday's RTR. The first one since the clocks went forward, so they made the most of the extra daylight and ran along the Greenway.
Next run is tomorrow (Tues 7th April). Hopefully see you there! π

I can hardly believe it's been four years since the very first Run Talk Run in Stratford upon Avon. We've welcomed so many people over the years, and each and every one of them make the group what it is.
I know many have benefited from the social / peer support aspect of the group, and we've all championed one another's running goals along the way too. I've seen people run their first 10km, half marathon, full marathon, and even ultramarathon!
People have attended runs in the midst of personal difficulties and found support in being able to talk and share, but also in companionship and distraction. We don't always need the same things when we're going through a tough time.
One of the lovely things about this group is that you are encouraged to "come as you are". No need to mask, or pretend, or be "fine". No pressure to share, but also no pressure to hide.
For three years I was the only run leader (with occasional help from some of the regulars when I was off), but for the last year I've been incredibly lucky to be joined by Megan, Dolorès, Rowena and Tom as run leaders. I am so appreciative to them for giving their time and for helping to make this such a welcoming space.
I'm looking forward to another year of running adventures, catch ups and friendly chats.
Much love,
Lis x

It was still daylight when we left Lifeways at 6.30 on Tuesday! πβοΈπ
This week we welcomed Karen to the group. π€
We had a lovely chatty jog round the park and by the time we crossed the river towards town it was dark.
Next week we will be going for a drink / bite to eat after our weekly run (or walk for those who prefer) to celebrate RTR Stratford upon Avon's 4th birthday! ππ
Hope to see lots of you there!

It was great to welcome Vanessa to the group this week π
And there was still a hint of daylight when people first started to arrive in the Lifeways garden (although it was dark by the time we headed off!)
I'm certainly looking forward to more daylight runs in the evening over the coming months (partly because I keep forgetting to charge my light).
Same time, same place next week.

See you next Tuesday! π
