Good luck to every single one of our competitors at NL Open tomorrow! 🥋💜
Summer is over and competition season is back! Hard work and extra pattern and sparring sessions have led to this. Whatever happens on the mats today, we are already so proud of every one of you for putting yourselves out there.
Quick reminder, Saturday classes are off today as our team are busy refereeing and coaching at the competition. Feel free to jump into any of our other classes this week, we'd love to see you there.

Trust us it's not as harsh as it sounds. 😂
We just mean this. There's a lot of little things that stop people walking through the door and trying something new, and honestly, none of them matter to us. So swipe through, because chances are one of these has been the thing holding you back.
Coming on your own? We've all done it. Every single person in that class was a stranger once, and our Odyssey Family is very good at making people feel like they belong within about five minutes.
Can't do the moves properly yet? Good. That's the whole point of coming. Nobody walks in already knowing it, that's literally our job.
Got an injury or something you need us to work around? Tell us. We'll adapt it, no fuss, no big deal. We want you moving in whatever way works for you.
At the end of the day we're just genuinely happy you're here. That's it. That's the whole thing.
So if any of that has been the excuse in your head, consider it gone. Come try us out, 2 weeks completely free, no pressure, just come and see what the fuss is about.

Balloon Festival weekend is finally here! 🎈💜
There's something so lovely about our wee town filling up with colour and balloons and people from all over coming to see what Strathaven's about. We are so proud to be part of a town that puts on something like this.
All classes are running as usual this weekend. So whether you're heading down to the festival first or coming straight to us, we'll see you on the mats.
Enjoy the balloons, enjoy the town, and hopefully some sunshine (fingers crossed). 🎈

One of my favourite things about teaching kids is the completely random information they decide I absolutely NEED to know.
“Can I show you how fast I can spin?”
“Do you know I’ve got a wobbly tooth?”
“Do you want to look at this chicken bone I brought to class” (Yes this one is true 👀)
This week Rohan asked if he could show me and all of his Taekwon-Do friends his Michael Jackson dance...
Obviously there was only one answer. 😂🕺
Yes, we want our Warriors to learn Taekwon-Do. We want them to get stronger, listen, work hard and grow in confidence.
But THIS kind of confidence might be my favourite.
Feeling completely comfortable to stand up in front of your friends, have fun, show everyone something you love and absolutely OWN it. 👏
And of course, having a group of teammates around you who are more than happy to be your audience and cheer you on. 💜

🎉💜 5 YEARS OF ODYSSEY! 💜🎉
Well... the weather definitely didn't get the birthday party memo 😂🌧️
Despite the torrential rain, our 5th Birthday Family Fun Day was a massive success, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate five years of Odyssey.
Seeing so many of our families turn up, embrace the weather, have fun and support the day meant so much to us. Bouncy castles, games, stalls, food, soaking wet kids (and adults) and plenty of laughs... exactly how a Scottish summer birthday party should be 😅☔️
A HUGE thank you to everyone who made the day possible. Our organisers and volunteers, everyone who helped on stalls, our brilliant stallholders, those who donated prizes, bought raffle tickets, helped set up and clear away, and every single person who came along and supported us. 💜
And the best part? We raised a fantastic amount for our Competition Fund, helping give our students more opportunities to travel, compete and experience events they might otherwise miss.
Five years of Odyssey and one pretty amazing community.
Rain or shine, you lot always show up. 💜🥋

We want to wish ALL of our amazing Odyssey kids the best of luck heading back, but an extra special shout-out has to go to those taking two particularly big steps...
