Strathaven Golf Club Ladies Section

The winners of yesterday’s Gent, Lady and Junior competition for the John Ferns Salver were:
Max Keeley, Lynne Boyd and Cameron Minford.

The funeral for Lil Brittin will take place on Thursday 10th September at 1.30pm
in Trinity Parish Church Strathaven and thereafter to South Lanarkshire Crematorium at 3.00pm.

Well done Fiona Tague in finishing joint 5th in a mixed field of 71 in the Scottish Medal grand finals at Gullane GC on Sunday with a score of 68(-6).

The Ladies are very sad to hear of the death this morning in Kilbride Hospice of a well liked member of our section, Lil Brittin.
Lil was an active playing member of the club until this year and was also a valuable member of the Singing Birdies.
She served on the Ladies Committee and for a number of years worked, with much success, with the Junior Section of the club and was responsible for the introduction of the Junior Development Programme.
She will be missed.
We send our sincere sympathy to her husband Phil, son Fraser, granddaughter Eilidh and to her brother and sisters.

Congratulations to Lindsay Main on winning the Championship for a second year in a row. In a very close game she won 1 up.
Lynne Boyd played very well with 4 birdies and some excellent putting. Hard luck Lynne.
