Strode Update❤️
We first would like to thank our members for their ongoing support and patience at what has been an incredibly difficult time for both Strode users and staff with the closure. Your ongoing commitment and loyalty to Strode is beyond appreciated and is part of what makes the community at Strode so valued.
We want to check in and provide the most updated information we currently have as we appreciate how important this is to our customers. On Monday 7th September, we re-opened Strode's doors and opened up our upstairs gym, studio and small pool and it has been brilliant to see so many of our customers return and enjoy the facilities.
With regards to other areas of the centre, we would like to communicate the current information we have regarding time frames. Our main pool suffered excessive water loss due to the plant room flood that occurred and required extensive electrical works in order to re-instate the pool pumps and circulation. After further conversations with our pool contractors, the council and Freedom Leisure, some further maintenance works have been highlighted as requiring completing before we are able to begin re-filling and treating the pool. This work is required to be completed and is fundamental to the operation of the main pool, so are currently awaiting a time frame on when these works can begin and a time-scale for completion. At this current moment in time, we do not have a clear or official update as to how long it will take to re-open our main pool. We appreciate this news may be disappointing, but will give out any updates we receive as soon as we possibly can to ensure transparency for our customers.
Regarding the downstairs gym, during the technical fault the gym suffered excessive flooding and water damage and requires extensive drying and re-building works which are scheduled to begin next week. This work is very complex and whilst we do not have an official time scale, we anticipate this being completed over the course over the coming months.
Whilst we appreciate that the news of further delays could be frustrating to hear, we want to ensure our customers have the most up to date information. All members can still access Tor Leisure Centre, Wells Sport and Fitness and Frome Leisure Centre as part of their membership, though this is not a blanket solution for all, we hope that it enables the vast majority to continue with their fitness and health goals whilst utilising some of our other great facilities.
With regards to compensation, all Strode swim school and fitness members should have received no Direct debit payment in September to re-imburse for August's payment. Swim school refund forms will be available at reception for any lessons missed outside of August. We are currently in discussion as to what compensation will be in place for fitness members in October and hope to share some news on this soon.
I would like to take the time also to thank you again for your ongoing support and commitment to Strode, it is beyond appreciated by staff and we value the community that Strode has built. Strode has a huge impact on not only the physical but mental health of our local community and want to assure you that the Strode team, Freedom Leisure and the council are working tirelessly to re-instate any closed facilities and welcome our members back in.
Thank you again for your ongoing support and loyalty to Strode Swimming and Fitness❤️
