Unity Martial Arts - Dorset North Dorset's new home for TaeKwon-Do, Karate, Tai Chi, Iaido and Kenjutsu. Little Dragons from 4+, TaeKwon-Do from 7+. Come with us on our journey.

Training in Shaftesbury, Sturminster Newton and Gillingham. Unity Martial Arts are a new Taekwondo, Iaido and kenjutsu club based in Sturminster Newton, Dorset. We plan on opening our own dedicated martial arts centre for all the local martial arts instructors to teach in the best setting.

Sadly we didn't win an award in the Business awards, but it was great to see lots of friends today so I'm still smiling! :-)

It's been a great year and we've won awards in Sturminster Biz Awards, Gillingham Dorset Biz Awards and Shaftesburybizawards so just this one to go now to complete the Marketing West set!

Tomorrow is our 1 year anniversary and we've achieved so much already. I'll write up a proper report this weekend and we're holding an ITF Seminar at our new centre later this month to celebrate it opening, but here are my highlights:
- Over 80 members in our first year! That's nearly 7 joining every month!
- Our student age range being 3 - 74!
- Opening a fully matted centre
- Building our own CRM and mobile apps
- Buying a minibus
- Launching our SEN mentoring and tutoring arm
- A few huge student personal wins that I wish I could detail
- Our great partnership with Sandroyd School and our sessions in other schools.
- Investing in embroidery, screenprinting and sublimination machinery to bring better value uniforms to our students
- Mr Ryu being accepted as a founding member of a new Taekwondo organisation.
- Doing our first public demos
- Our team picking up all kinds of medals/trophies
- I love how inclusive we all are. We have so many students; Autism, ADHD, PTSD, Trauma, PDA, SPD, Down syndrome, LGBTQIA+

Most of all - the incredible martial arts family we've built. They're all amazing!

Mr Ryu has completed his level 1 Makaton. Level 2 is booked for later this month. He is still learning BSL, but we're aware that some of our students know Makaton, so he'll learn both.
