Good Afternoon

Some of you may have seen the post on social media advertising our ‘ Club Day Match ‘ on Sunday 30th August

Essentially this is something we have arranged to celebrate and commemorate three people who have contributed so much to the club over many years, but whom have all sadly passed away in 2026

Godfrey Kyte a former player and Club Secretary, Dave Aby a fantastic supporter who rarely missed a match, home or away, in the last 5 or so years and Roger Lane, who so many in the village will have known, someone who was part of the group who resurrected Acton Cricket Club in 1977 and avidly followed the club’s fortunes once his own playing days had ended.

As well as the inter-club game, there will be a barbecue and bar open throughout the day together with a collection of photos and club memorabilia from over the years, which we intend having on display in the hall

We would love to see as many people as possible at any stage in the day, be it to watch a bit of the cricket, grab a bite to eat and reminisce over some of the memories on display or simply to honour the three gentlemen for whom we have arranged the event
