Such an achievement we are all incredibly proud of him and the beautiful Norma.

Red Heat Alert 🚨 Medication Alert 💊

Due to the extreme weather and red heat alert we have taken the decision to not post medication for the remainder of the week. This is due to the fact that medication storage should not exceed 25 degrees and we cannot guarantee this.

Postage of medication will resume as normal next week and people in need of medication this week, please call the office to arrange collection.

With recent increasing outbreaks of equine influenza, equestrian governing bodies are recommending that horse owners review their horse’s vaccination status and consider a 6 monthly booster where appropriate.

Equine flu spreads quickly and can have a serious impact on both individual horses and the wider equine community. Vaccination remains the most effective way to help protect your horse and reduce the risk of transmission.

This Wednesday, we welcomed the newest member to Team Essex and Suffolk Equine Vets, only this time it was the four-legged kind.

One of our vets, Lydia, welcomed little Ariel from her beautiful mare Amber 🧡💛💗

She is full of sass and is already a confident bold filly. We cannot cope with how cute she is.

In light of the increasing number of outbreaks of Equine influenza (flu) cases we thought it prudent to give some advice.

🦠We strongly recommend you check your horse’s passport and check their vaccinations are up to date.
🦠Be mindful of bio security when leaving the yard. Where possible keep your distance at competitions.
🦠Make sure you know the clinical signs; nasal discharge, cough, raised temperature (over 38.5), lethargy, inappetence.
🦠Any new horses arriving on a yard should be isolated away from resident horses for a few weeks.
