Essex Trail Events

Essex Trail Events are pleased to support 'The Ghost of the Miller’s Boy' a night trail on Wednesday 28th October from The Maypole pub in Thaxted. The event is raising funds for the restoration of the windmill in Thaxted.
The Windmill is reported to have at least one ghost, including that of the miller’s boy. We hope that with the run being so close to Hallowe’en the ghostly child may make his presence known to runners as they pass the mill!

Essex Trail Events The Admiral McHilly and Chelmer Trail is always a busy day for me. Up early to put out the drink stations, set everyone off, man the bar, then back out to collect the drink stations’ debris. At least this year I didn’t have the added bonus of a puncture on the way home.

Lovely route on Wanda's Wonder Wander this morning. Very varied terrain with several FSDs. There was even some mud and a large puddle.

This years Santa fun is on Wednesday 16th December with starts from 5.30pm with all the usual bonuses applied for finding Santa and other Christmas characters on the route. This year as it's not all about winning there will be an extra prize for coming 25th as well as best Christmas themed fancy dress.

Checked the Felsted Frolic 10 miler this afternoon. Bit too warm. You'll be pleased to know that we are not going to charge extra as it has now become 10.5 miles due to some overgrown paths.
Was constantly buzzed by a bi-plane which kept cutting its engine and gliding into land only to take off again and repeat the procedure.
Highlight for me though was in an EP where the instructions said "DUCK" I startled a green woodpecker that froze for a few seconds looking at me before hopping away.
Entries for both the 10.5 miles and 10k are still open.
