Houghton Junsui Shotokan Karate Do

Great class we got through a lot from basics, 5 step and kata. Finished with kicks on paddles. We also welcomed Arrhur moving from our Darlington club. Seniors lots of basics and kata finishing with kicks on the paddles. Thanks to all for helping tonight.

Quieter class all did really well, yellow belts and orange belts learning their new kata and everyone else on partner work. Seniors hard work throughout and kata to finish.

Another hot one 🔥 but all did great in juniors. Final look at some kata before the grading then all kicking on the paddles and finished with a game. Seniors gently through some kata, with sensei Charlotte making all kihon mirror image. Pool noodle for the jumps in the katas tonight too.

Good energy in the room tonight for our juniors class, 3 new starters who did really well with Matthew and our other little tigers working with Zach whilst I concentrated on the rest with all basics, kata and 5 step. Great work, we then looked at tying our belt and counting to 5 in Japanese. Some interesting belt tying with Zach’s unique way of teaching it. Thanks to Anya, Joel and Max supporting with the teaching too. Seniors seemed to fly over, basics kata and 1 step/ 5 step for orange belts. Good work on a warm evening. Thanks Sensei Andrew for helping out.

Good classes tonight all did really well and great progress being made. Second class a little quieter but again great work on basics and kata.

Super busy juniors class, everyone did really well and preparing many for a grading. Second class Andrew started all off then in the 2nd half Charlotte worked on Heian Shodan with orange belts, Andrew on sandan with max, Zach with Anya on Yondan with the rest working on Tekki Shodan with a little time competition.

Great attendance for the school holidays, achieved a lot tonight for all grades. Second class lots of effort on grading syllabus and also a first grading completed for Emma, well done and well deserved. Certificate and belt will be given next week.

Great classes tonight, 2 new starters and 2 new members signed up too. All did really great in the juniors class. Thanks for the pictures they are great, photo and lighting poor as I’m no photographer.

2 new starters at juniors class today, really busy class and looking at work towards grading in June. Some really good work. Second class was quiet but good work, some spinning back kick practice for purple white belts.
