🎣 Last Week’s Shore Fishing: Persistence Pays Off Big! 🎣

The week kicked off quietly—slow bites and tough going at first—but we stuck at it, and that grit turned into some fantastic catches! 🤙

I landed some cracking hounds 🦈 and strap conger, while my mate Paul Cross had a great run too, bagging hounds and bass 🐟 while Andy got himself into some lovely hounds 🦈.

Bait was everything this week! Blow lug 🪱 ruled the roost for most sessions—nothing else got a sniff. Come the final trip, we switched to peeler crab 🦀, and it was lights out—every take came on that bait choice alone!

Went out bass & sole fishing at 2 different venues. One north norfolk tues then west norfolk we'd morning. Only caught to small sole and roach size bass it then took a few hrs to for the bass to come through , but getting double hooked ups , when action stopped my to my next spot , I did stop for rockpooling for crabs , just got a few hard backs .venue 2 to start with un fisherble with w**d until tied turned rods up as high as I could get them waited down with a bucket wich was good as fish close in hit by baits bending the rod i thought it was a stinger at first even jump out the sea lol. Then another to end with . Over 10 bass 0ver 44cm to 65 cm all caught size 3/0 kamakri with a octopus 2/0 on rag

Had ago on the river for bass and flounder caught 6 flounder 2 were hooked deep that are tope baits and a huge river eel that was close to 4lb monster out of sea water but with the flow of the river the fight took it out of it so had a big bucket let it rest with a towel over it as a hot day , and went back ok , i thought it was a good bass lol.

Size 3/0 kamakri, with a 2/0 octopus beak pully pennel with limitless 60lb leader and ndura 15lb main line, the Ndura line is great the thiness line and best casting line for a multiplier ive ever used even my mate nicked a spool from me lol

Jetty Session: Tough Conditions, Great Rewards!

After digging our own fresh bait🪱 the day before, Cross216 and I headed back to the jetty — and let’s just say it wasn’t the easiest start! The wind was blowing straight into us, and the w**d was absolutely terrible, making every cast a challenge. But we stuck it out… and it was well worth the effort! 🎣

I landed two small hounds🦈, while Crossy got himself two nice bass🐟. Every single fish fell to worm🪱 baits — nothing else got a look-in all session!

Got out again trying for bigger hounds , but only manage 4 small ones to 85cm and schoolie bass had such bad w**d may rot so pack up from North norfolk drove to west norfolk & and even worst with the w**d but this stuff was fresh both rods out into the tide 7oz leads both pulled of the rest as the w**d caught hold so that was that but now have 2lb of rag to use so might go up the river for a bass

Lewis opted to fish a local beach a hour down to low and a few hrs up

His session started slow with dropping a fish first cast a few cast later Lewis was graced with a cracking 6lb 1oz bass falling to a freshly pumped yellow tail as the session went on it wasn’t looking the best but a few casts later he landed a lovley 7lb smoothound

His rig of choice was a 2hk clipdown made up out of limitless 60lb extra tough leader 25lb avenja snood line #2 aberdines and ss power swivels

Fishing Report:

Here are a few shots from the past week. To be honest, the fishing has been quite slow lately for no obvious reason — but it’s not just about landing big fish! That feeling is unbeatable when it happens, but being out on the water with good mates and enjoying the time and having a 😃 is what it’s really all about.

We had some warm days too, with temperatures hitting over 30°C 🌞🌡

Gear Used:
• Rods: Limitless AS4500XT & Zziplex TF50/50
• Rigs: Custom Pully Pennel rigs with Limitless Crab Hooks (3/0) on the bottom, plus Limitless Chinu Hooks 🪝; also used Pully Pennel dropper rigs with the same hook setup

Bait:
Prawns 🦐, peeler crab 🦀, squid 🦑, ragworm 🪱, and hermit crab 🐚 — boosted with the scent of Dave’s Special Sauce Peeler Crab blend.

All in all, a great few days out with Paul Cross Mick King Luke Clarke Joe Foxall and not forgetting the beautiful missus we would be lost without ya x
