PURSUIT RACE⛵️🌊☀️ This year we were luck to have sunny weather even though there could have been more wind. Well done to all sailors, especially in the challenging lightwind conditions and thank you to our safety and OD boats.

MACKEM NIGHT. Thanks to Jimmy and the social comittee for organising it, a great time was had by all eating pie and peas, playing bingo, doing anagrams and a quiz to end the night Looking forward to the quiz this wednesday.

The wind and waves didn't play ball today so our youth sailors went body boarding instead- either brave or bonkers🌊🌡️🏄‍♀️ Hoping for better weather next week🤞☀️⛵️

Great weekend welcoming the SB20s for the Northen Area Championships this weekend.⛵️ Saturday had some challenging conditions for both the sailors and race managment team with strong winds, big swells and lots of rain. Sunday brought sunshine but light, shifty winds. Big thanks to all at Sunderland Yacht Club, from race managment to galley and bar staff. Hope to see the class again soon⛵️☀️🌊

FRIDAY FAMILY NIGHT⛵️A great sailing session for our youth sailors practicing tacking in some very light wind⛵️ Looking forward to next week☀️

What's on this month⛵️⛵️ This month is packed with a variety of great organised social and sailing events. Coffee and crafts starts Monday 11th of May🧶🪡🎨 and the languages sessions start on Tuesday the 5th🇪🇸🇫🇷. We have a Mackem night on the 15th of May as well as a quiz night on the 20th ran by our excellent social comittee. Family sailing will be every Friday night and you can enjoy a drink in the bar. Mark your calendars and we hope to see you soon!

SATURDAY RACING⛵️ Champagne sailing for racing on saturday. We had 4 races with perfect breeze and sunny weather. No dinghy sailing week because we're hosting SB20 Northens. Please volunteer if you are free⛵️
