While many activities take a break over the summer holidays, our karate classes will continue throughout the summer.

By continuing to train, children maintain their progress, stay active, and return to school feeling confident and motivated.

Karate provides much more than physical exercise. It helps children develop:

☀️🥋SUMMER TERM GRADING🥋☀️

A VERY busy, but extremely enjoyable Summer term grading for our members today.

This term, we had over 120 pupils grading at our end of Summer term grading. This included club members from our main Dojo in Ryhope, as well as our 7 primary schools across Sunderland.

The standard today was exceptional and I was especially impressed with the quality of the younger ones and lower grades we have coming through at the minute.

Special mention goes out to those from our specialist karate tots class, who had the courage to do a grading from as young as 3 years old!

On the other end of the scale, the standard of our new adults and particularly those from our women's only class was pleasure to witness too.

As usual, our outstanding grading awards had to be very well-earned! Special congratulations to:

The pupils were outstanding – showing great enthusiasm, focus, respect and determination throughout the sessions. It was brilliant to see so many children enjoying the benefits of martial arts while having lots of fun.

Our school taster days are designed to:

✅ Improve focus and concentration
✅ Encourage respect and self-discipline
✅ Promote fitness and wellbeing
✅ Give children a fun and engaging new experience

🏅🏆KAWAUSO CUPS🏆🏅

Congratulations to competition squad members Arik and Alfie. Tonight the boys awarded the Kawauso cups for Kata and Kumite due to their amazing performances at the Scottish Open in Dundee.

🥊🔥 MATT PRICE SEMINAR🔥🥊

Yesterday was our annual club kumite seminar with Matt Price Sensei. Matt has been to our Dojo for the last 3 years now and his visit is always a highlight of the year!

Matt led 2 fantastic sessions, focusing on competition kumite, padwork, timing and reactions. I am certian that everyone left the event with something to help develop their kumite moving forward.

As always, I would like to say a huge thank to to Matt for travelling up from Harrogate to teach at our Dojo. Also, to others who travelled from various Dojo's around the north east to attend the event. Not forgetting, our own members who took full advantage of this brilliant opportunity.
