Our lovely teacher, Grace, is taking on this year’s Great North Run to raise money for ANDYSMANCLUB! 🏃‍♀️💙

We’re so proud of her for taking on this challenge and supporting such an important cause. If you’re able to, please show Grace some love and support by donating — every little bit makes a difference! 🙌

MEET THE STAFF!

Hello, I’m Lily! I have just finished my A-Levels - Biology, Sport and Photography and I hope to move onto Newcastle University to study Sport and Exercise Science in September. I enjoy social interactions, and completing physical tasks that are out my comfort zone, as well as spending time with my 3 dogs!

I've always loved swimming, having swam for Sunderland Swim Club for nearly 10 years. I love being able to share my love for the sport with those I teach, sharing both the importance and enjoyment it can bring.

MEET THE STAFF!

Hi, my name is Carly! I am 19 years old and currently studying Cosmetic Science at the University of Sunderland. Before moving up to Sunderland, I grew up in London, where I have been working in swim teaching since the age of 15. My passion for swimming is rooted in my childhood, growing up alongside my two sisters as we worked our way through a swimming club and competed together. After starting to volunteer at my club, I realised I could share my love of swimming with younger children — and that’s when I made the transition into swim teaching. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.

MEET THE STAFF!

Hi, I’m Lucy! I am currently studying music production and love being creative, especially when it comes to making and mixing music. I got into swim teaching because I really enjoy working with children and helping them build confidence while learning such an important life skill. It is really rewarding seeing their progress and how proud they feel when they achieve something new. Outside of teaching, I love DJing, making music, going out with friends, doing karaoke, and discovering new songs.

MEET THE STAFF!

My name is Aleyna, I am 17 years old and I am a TV and Film student at Gateshead College. I love my college course because I get to do hands on filming and learn about the media industry. Outside of college I love to go shopping and hang out in Newcastle with my friends. In the future I aspire to work in the media industry, hopefully as a journalist or an editor.

What I enjoy working at Gold Strokes is interacting with all of the amazing children and getting to know them all, whilst also communicating with parents and gaining good communication skills and confidence.

MEET THE STAFF!

Hi I’m Dan,
I am 15 years old and just about to start my GCSEs in September. I am currently doing the Poolside Role at Gold Strokes which I really enjoy, especially speaking to all of the swimmers before and during their lessons.

I have swam since the age of 7 at the City of Sunderland ASC. I have competed at a regional level at both swimming and football. Outside of swimming and football I enjoy playing golf on the weekends with my friends. Once I turn 16 in November I am hoping to complete my level one Swim Teacher’s Qualification and start helping in the pool!
