Today, we ran a coaching workshop focusing on warm-up activities! π
Our coaches created, participated in, and reflected on their activities as a group, ensuring they were as engaging, inclusive, and fun as possible. π€π―
Theyβre now ready to deliver these activities in their sessions over the coming weeks. πͺβ½

Congratulations to Zara who had been invited to attend the next GB national development squad after her amazing performance at the Excel 3 finals.
Zara has been in our squad since 2019 when she attended one of our mass trials and was selected after showing off her strength and hard work!

Congratulations to Maddy who has been selected to compete for New Zealand at the Pharaoh Cup in Cario, in September. This will be Maddy's first international back after having shoulder surgery last year. She has worked very hard to rehab back to fitness all while completing her first year at Cambridge University with top marks.
What a fabulous role model for our gymnasts to look up to!
Thank you to Huntingdon Gymnastics Club for all their help with Maddys training while she is at University and thank you to her New Zealand Club North Harbour Gymnastics, for all their input with her journey. Team work! πͺ

Congratulations to Sophia who competed at her Excel 3 retake this weekend.
She battled through the heat and finished her grade with a strong range and conditioning set to secure a "Working At" level which completes her grades journey. She now will work on lots of new skills and start her FIG journey next year.

Over the last couple of weekends our gymnasts have been working hard at various squads.
First was Mai at her Junior GB squad which finished with a selection competition on the final day. Mai has been recovering from a fracture in her wrist but was able to compete a new fully hands free beam, along with a watered downed floor. This has helped her gain experience at this type of event for the future when she is fully fit.
Then was our South East regional squad where the girls worked hard in the heat and followed a fab training with specialist coach Natalie Reeves. πͺ

Mai and Ari both enjoyed their national squad training last week at Lilleshall.
Mai had her first Junior GB squad training of the year and Ari had her first England squad training of the new squad.
Both girls showed their hard work to impress the national coaches with their upgrades, with Ari also being awarded a prize for her improvement.
Fab work girls.

Congratulations to our gymnasts that took part in the Excel Grade National Final today.
Excel 3
Zara competed a fabulously clean and confident competition to pass her grade as well as take the overall silver medal. Zara had the 3rd highest score on UB, 4th highest on BB, 6th highest of FX and then 5th highest on RC showing great consistency in her work across the apparatus.
Malini showed off her beautiful work to also pass her grade and place 5th overall in a very close top 6. She also had the 3rd highest score on UB along with the 6th highest score on VT, with her first vault scoring very well.
Sophia sadly had a nervous start on the bars which cost her some vital points, but she kept her head high to perform 4 clean and well scoring routines. To fight back so hard after an upset and get so close shows her maturity and strength that will serve her well in the future.
Excel 2
Ayla was the reserve for the South East team after passing her grade and qualifying from regional championships. Today she was a fab cheerleader for the SE team who came 5th and for her TGC team mates doing Excel 3.
Well done to the girls and to our WA coaches that work with them to make them look so amazing and achieve such high results!
Good luck now to our Performance grade gymnasts who compete Saturday and Sunday
