Good news!

Your metabolism isn’t broken and you don’t need a”reset”!

Ladies, if you’re not losing weight it’s because you’re not in a calorie deficit. It is not because your metabolism is broken.

Nobody in the history of the world, menopausal or not, has held onto body fat when in an extreme calorie deficit.

I mean, think about it. Women throughout history have died due to starvation and famine; they weren’t holding onto body fat.

GLP-1s work because they help women sustain a calorie deficit. There will be some metabolic adaptation over time but that’s because you’d be smaller with less body fat to lose. But if you’re in a deficit, you’d still lose it.

Somewhere along the way those calories are being consumed and/or you’re not burning as many as you think.

And I know it feels better to blame something outside of your control, but trust me that’s not a good outcome here. This is good news because you CAN do something about it.

I’m not saying it’s easy because midlife does make it harder (poor sleep, fatigue, hunger, cravings, emotional reactivity, stress, etc.).

But it is possible and yes, even without a “metabolism reset”.

Who else is sick of this sh*t?!

BTW, just to clear things up:

✅ Calories in protein do count.
✅ Zone 2 work is very beneficial.
✅ Lifting weights doesn’t fatigue the nervous system when programmed correctly (the dose makes the poison).
✅ There is no best strength workout for fat loss.
✅ Definitely don’t wait to lift weights, start now.
✅ Calorie deficits work for everyone.
✅ And no, you don’t need a different training approach.

FFS sake.

What works for everyone else, works for us too!

💪 Lift weights.
🚶‍♀️ Prioritise intentional recovery (including Zone 2).
💦 Include intensity (e.g. HIIT/SIT).
🍽️ Meet your body’s energy needs.
💤 Sleep well.
😩 Implement effective stress management strategies.
