⚫⚪ Veseyans Touch Rugby Tournament - Sat 4th July 🔥🏉

We are pleased to announce the tournament is back for another year! Come and join a team, Adult and junior games for all.

Grills street food, Bar open and Festival vibes 🎉

Saturday 4th July 2026 - Gates open at 12pm

The 2026 Staffordshire Mixed Touch Series started last night at Stone and Veseyans made the journey up with 5 debutants.

In their first game against Stone Blacks, Ethan Taylor and Adam Dugmore led the defensive line in the middle and a fantastic interception debut try for Nick Yates sealed a 3-1 win.

In the next game V's played Stone Greens and went 2-0 down early on but after two disallowed tries Rob Clohessy finally got his try and the floodgates opened finishing in a 5-3 win.

The third game saw the Veseyans face a strong Rugeley side and brilliant front up defensive work from Ben Cleaver, Claire Payne and Holly McCarthy gave the Mighty V's a shut out and the space for Ethan Taylor and Nick Yates to dot down for a 2-0 win.

Our final game saw us face the strongest side and eventual winners: Stafford. Despite the girls (including debutants Bailey McCarthy and Georgia Sutton-Hitch) contributing two scores and Adam Dugmore scoring the try of the night and then providing the assist of the night too, Vs went down 4-7 to finish a respectable 3rd place.

Thank you to our guest player Rich from Newport who joined us as the only Barbarian who turned up (all are welcome at Vs) and that’s where we travel to for the next round.

Veseyans 2nd XV - Counties 3 Mids West (South) ⚫⚪

The draft leagues are out for the new season - with a first look at the teams we will be facing when the new season kicks off.

Our 2nd XV are moving across from East to South providing them with a completely new set of challenges in what is looking an extremely competitive league.

Opening games are scheduled for Saturday 12th September.

This year, some of our Under 16s girls team, along with their coaches Matt and Niamh, are running the fun run!

In their Veseyans socks and pink tutus, Sarah, Leah, Olivia and Lilly are raising money for Looseheadz, a charity supporting mental health in rugby clubs. They are also aiming to promote girls rugby - even rugby players wear pink!!

⚫⚪ Veseyans Colts Players In Action! ⚪⚫

Congratulations to Dan White, Martin Franklin, and Elliot Dean who represented Veseyans in Greater Birmingham Colts in a triumphant 38-21 victory to lift the Houghton Harries Cup for the first time in 23 years. 🏆

Well done! And big thanks to everyone who supported the players and cheered on from the sidelines.

Veseyans 2nd XV travelled to Coventry for the final time this season and came up against a motivated Keresley side who knew a big win could see them go up.

V’s suffered from unavailability in the 1st XV and injuries in their own squad meaning the 2s were somewhat depleted and unfortunately this had an impact on the performance.

🏆MOTM: Alfie Joines

Congratulations to Keresley on their promotion but more importantly whilst on the day the performance may not have been how the 2s wanted to sign off, the resilience and resolve the squad has shown to fight their way out of relegation and finish a respectable 7th shows what this club and the 2nd XV is all about.

An outstanding season and one the side can be proud of.
