Kuk Sool Won of North Birmingham

Here’s a few snapshots of another awesome weekend in Norwich for the WKSA European Championships!

On Friday we had 4 students take part in the National Testing, and they all did us proud, receiving great feedback.

20 competitors took to the mats from Team North Birmingham, and we managed to come away with 4th place overall! SBN Amy and KSN Keely managed to both win Grand Champion in their respective competitions, and every North Birmingham competitor came away with at least one medal.

Aside from competition, these weekends give us a chance to catch up with old friends, and watch our students form friendships with peers from around the country, which we love to see! We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Last weekend saw North Birmingham take another great trip up to Bathgate and Winchburgh for the WKSA Scottish Championships. A huge thank you to the host schools for putting on such a well-run event as usual!

With just 13 competitors, we managed to place 5th overall in the school placings, with a very respectable 137 points!

We are always in awe of the commitment of our students, and all of these people will also be taking the trip to Norwich this weekend for the European Championships, alongside a few more of their classmates. See you there!

Celebrating 7 Years - K*k Sool Won of North Birmingham

We’re by no means the biggest club… and that’s never been the goal. For 7 years, we’ve focused on something far more important — building people. Confidence in children, strength in adults, and a community where families feel part of something real. From nervous first classes to black belt journeys, it’s been incredible to watch so many grow both on and off the mats, including ourselves!

This club is built on every student who showed up, every parent who trusted us, and every moment of perseverance along the way. If you’ve ever been part of our journey - thank you!

Our instructors headed down to Norwich today for an awesome Black Belt Workshop, focusing on weapons, techniques and grappling.

And as an added bonus, our very own SBN James got invited to start testing for 5th Degree Master! Here’s to the next 3 years of testing…

On Sunday 22nd March, we will be hosting the Seminar Team at our Dojang once again, and we can’t wait!

This will be a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn from the highest ranking Masters from the UK and USA, and is not to be missed. Spaces are limited, so make sure you sign up soon to secure your place!

On Sunday 12th April 2026 our very own KSN Olly will be running the Paris Marathon to raise money for Alzheimer’s UK — a cause that means so much to us here at KSW North Birmingham.

UK CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025🇬🇧

We think these pictures speak for themselves, we truly had the best weekend in Liverpool as Team North Birmingham!

Another 2nd place finish for the school as a result of all the hard work by the students and the unwavering support of their families. Seeing our students getting involved in the wider K*k Sool community gives us such a sense of pride and highlights what these events are about.

SBN James also achieved Grand Champion within a stacked field of talented 4th dahn competitors.

Big shout to JKN Oliver and JKN Victor who promoted to 1st Degree Black Belt. They are both going to make excellent Black Belts and we look forward to seeing what their future in K*k Sool looks like!

This category challenged them to blend creativity with precision, showcasing dynamic sequences while staying true to the core principles of K*k Sool Won.
Every competitor brought incredible energy and commitment—no one held back. It was genuinely thrilling to watch and an impressive display of skill, spirit, and innovation.
