This is the first year of running the event which will be held at Parc Y Scarlets in Llanelli.
The Welsh Firefighter Challenge is a regional sporting competition open to both current and retired firefighters, running in conjunction with the British Firefighters Challenge. The competition involves activities specific to the role of firefighters and provides a day of entertainment and whilst raising funds for the Firefighters Charity. In this episode, I’m joined by Chris Kirby, Chief Fire Officer of South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Chair of FireSport UK, to talk about why bringing sport back matters right now. We are deeply saddened to hear of the news coming out of Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service on the sudden passing of Rob Taylor their Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive.
The team first met CFO Taylor earlier in the year at the British Firefighter Challenge. Where we had the privilege of receiving some awards from CFO Taylor.
From the Welsh Firefighter Challenge and Mid and West Wales Firefighter Challenge team we would like to extend our thoughts and condolences with his friends, family, and colleagues at this difficult time.
