🏆 What a fantastic day at Swansea Tennis & Squash Club! 🎾

We held our very first graded Ladies Only Squash Tournament with 30 amazing entrants competing across four grades throughout the day! 🙌

The day was the perfect blend of friendly competition and fun, bringing together players of all ages and standards, from first-timers playing their very first competitive matches to experienced players and coaches.

🌟 Age 13 to ..well I can’t say .... but enjoying retirement!

Special thanks to Paul Thomas for running a marking masterclass, Sian for leading the coaching program, Squash Wales for support, the club, everyone who helped out in the kitchen, at the tournament desk, behind the scenes and all our wonderful participants! 💜

Week 2 our Swansea A Team take on St. Mellons at home. Come and support and watch what is set to be some great Squash. The question is, can our resident “Postman” deliver? See you all on the 24th at 7pm.

Thank you Judy Murray 💜

A huge thank you to Judy Murray for making Saturday such a special and memorable day at Swansea Tennis & Squash Club. 💜 🎾

Judy, thank you for taking our juniors through their paces with a fantastic coaching session, joining us for a brilliant question and answer session, and officially opening our brand new courts 7, 8 & 9.

Your touching speech about the late, great Jim Lightbody was incredibly special and meant a huge amount to everyone at the club.

Thank you also for supporting our Finals Day, helping present our team awards, signing tennis balls and taking so many photographs with our members. 🎾

It really was a special day for so many of our players, parents and members, and one that will be remembered for a very long time.

Having you at the club, especially on such an important day for us, made it even more memorable.

Thank you, Judy, for giving up your time and being such a huge part of a very special day at Swansea Tennis & Squash Club. 💜

We hope to see you back at the club again soon! 🎾🙌

🎾 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026 – PART 4️⃣

How could we finish such an action-packed day?

Well… I think we nailed it! 🤣

Introducing the inaugural Swansea Tennis & Squash Club 1-Point Championships! 🏆

£30 cash prize — not quite the Australian Open money, but still worth playing for! 💷🤣

Despite the rain coming in sideways, 54 players entered. Court 2 lights on, a packed balcony and an absolutely electric atmosphere! ⚡️

Max took on the role of referee — possibly our first mistake! 🤣 But he was brilliant, keeping everyone entertained through the chaos.

The first few matches were over in seconds… until 6-year-old Fliss produced a rally against Jacob P. Jacob won the point, but Fliss definitely won the crowd! 👏❤️

From then on it was chanting, singing, “Oooooohs” and “Arghhhhs” from a packed balcony!

The pressure was REAL as players stepped onto court with jelly knees! 😂

Men – 1 serve | Ladies – 2 serves | Juniors – 3 serves

After 30 minutes…

🏆 MATTHEW DOUGHERTY – 1-POINT CHAMPION 2026! 🏆

And the best bit? He only had to hit THREE balls in five matches! 🤣🤣

People are already planning their strategies for next year… I think 100+ players could be coming!

What a way to finish an incredible Finals Day. ❤️

Different ages, different sections, one club, one brilliant community. 🎾👏
