Congratulations to one of our newest club members, Donielle, who is the winner of a brand new Wilson Blade racket! 🎾

Following the huge success of our recent Open Day, all 24 new adult members were entered into a prize draw, with one lucky winner taking home the racket. Congratulations, Donielle! 👏

It’s been fantastic to see so many of our new members already getting involved attending social tennis evenings, joining coaching sessions, and even representing the club in team tennis.

We really hope you’re all settling in well and enjoying being part of the club. Welcome once again, and we look forward to seeing you on court! 💜

Grade 2 Lexus National Tour 9U Champion – Charles Preece 🏆

An incredible weekend for Charles, who claimed the Grade 2 Lexus National Tour 9U title at Queenswood Tennis Club. This is his first Grade 2 tournament victory, and it couldn’t have been more deserved.

From the last 16 onwards, Charles was simply outstanding. He dropped just three games on his way to the final before producing another exceptional performance to win the championship match 4-0.

It was a seriously impressive week from this young man. Throughout the tournament he showed outstanding composure, belief and talent, playing with a maturity well beyond his years.

We’re incredibly proud of Charles. He’s worked so hard over the last few weeks and months, not only developing his on-court game but also focusing on his mental skills. This weekend was a brilliant example of that hard work paying off.

Congratulations, Charles, a fantastic achievement, and we’re excited to see what comes next! 👏 💙 🏆

Josh Kerr wins Bronze Medal at the Virtus Summer Games in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Last week, Josh Kerr won a bronze medal in the II1 Men's Team Event alongside fellow Brit Aidan Moody. The Virtus European Summer Games welcomed more than 600 athletes from 22 countries, bringing together competitors with intellectual impairments for a week of elite competition and celebration.

Congratulations, Josh, on an incredible achievement!

Swansea Tennis and Squash Club has been hard at work transforming its former clay courts into brand-new tarmac courts for members and visitors to enjoy.

The refurbishment will provide the Swansea tennis community with access to even more high-quality courts, helping to support participation and create greater opportunities for people to play tennis at the venue.

It’s fantastic to see continued investment in tennis facilities across Wales, ensuring players of all ages and abilities have access to great places to play.

What a day for Swansea Tennis & Squash Club! 🎾🍗🍺 ☀️

Saturday was everything a club event should be, packed courts, fantastic competition, great food, plenty of laughter and a brilliant atmosphere from start to finish.

Across the day we welcomed over 130 players to take part in the Parent & Child Cup, American Doubles events and Squash Summer Finals, while around 100 people enjoyed the BBQ and social activities. It was fantastic to see so many members, families and friends enjoying the club together.

A huge thank you must go to the local businesses who helped make the day such a success:

☕ Mumbles Coffee for keeping everyone fuelled with excellent coffee and delicious pastries throughout the day.

🍦 Joe’s Ice Cream for supplying the perfect treat in the glorious sunshine.

Your support is hugely appreciated and helped create a fantastic experience for our members.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended, played, volunteered, supported and helped organise the day. We’ve received some brilliant feedback, particularly from newer members who commented on how welcoming and friendly the club felt.

Days like Saturday show exactly what our club is all about. The tennis and Squash sections have never been stronger, participation continues to grow, and there is a real buzz around the club.

🏆 Player Success!

Congratulations to club member Charles who today won a Grade 3 Orange Ball event in Bristol! 🎾🥇

Even more impressive was his dominance throughout the tournament. Across all four matches, Charles dropped just six points in total, an incredible achievement at any level. 💥

A truly outstanding performance, showing fantastic focus, consistency and determination from start to finish.

Well done Charles we’re all incredibly proud of you! 👏🔥🪨

Club Championships 2026 – American Doubles Events 🎾☀️

Firstly, what an incredible afternoon of tennis, with players from all sections of the club coming together for our American Doubles events.

Social Players Event (2–4pm)

The Social Players event saw 28 players slug it out for two hours in the baking heat, all trying to rack up as many games as possible.

It was fantastic to welcome so many new members and get them fully involved in club life. Events like these are a great way to meet new people, enjoy some competitive tennis, and feel part of the club.

The top four players, who have secured their place on Finals Day, are:

Team Players Event (4–6pm)

Then it was time for the serious business…

The bags were bigger, the serves were bigger, and the desire to win was definitely bigger! 😂

We had 25 players in attendance, which was a great effort considering a number of players were unavailable due to team matches taking place elsewhere.

It was brilliant to see players from all teams mixing together, competing hard, and getting to know one another both on and off the court.

After two hours of fiercely contested tennis, we narrowed the field down to our final six:

Unfortunately, Chloe and Nia are unable to make Finals Day, meaning a couple of players have managed to sneak through the back door and secure their place in September’s finals!

What a way to kick off Club Championships 2026. A huge well done to everyone who took part. We hope you all enjoyed the afternoon as much as we did.

🎾 Tennis Club Championships 2026 – Parent & Child Cup (Open Age Category)

The Club Championships kicked off yesterday with the Parent & Child Cup, starting at 9am in glorious sunshine! ☀️

What can we say… quite possibly the best Parent & Child event we have ever run at the club. 💜

A fantastic 44 players, 22 pairs and all 9 courts in use across three hours of brilliant tennis. The standard on display was incredible, with no easy matches and every pair competing their hearts out.

The competition was fierce, but it was played in exactly the right spirit – fun, friendly and full of great sportsmanship throughout.

A huge thank you to every player who took part and helped make the event so special. Events like this are what make our club such a fantastic place to be. 👏

🎾 💜 How amazing is this…..

Club members Nigel and Kerry have already made a huge difference by collecting and delivering buckets full of tennis and sporting equipment to Kenya.🇰🇪

Now they’ve gone one step further and are volunteering their time to deliver tennis sessions in several very special schools, helping introduce more children to sport and providing opportunities that many of us take for granted.

The impact of what they’re doing goes far beyond tennis. They’re inspiring young people, creating memories, and using sport to bring smiles, confidence and opportunity to children thousands of miles away. 🎾

A fantastic effort from two wonderful club members. We’re incredibly proud of you both. 👏🎾🌍❤️
