So pleased for this one! Canaan Price has signed for Newport County! Another TCSA graduate signed by a Pro Club.
Another player that took time to devleop at his own pace and to build a bank of experience, confidence and know-how to get ready to make the step up.
With TCSA, we entered the Junior Premier League with a very young and experienced team a few years back and, initially, got bullied by some big, strong English teams....but Canaan was unflustered...he saw it as an opportunity!
He grew from it. And pretty much every experience good or bad; showing how important grit, determination and a growth mindset is in fulfilling your potential.
Canaan was also a thinker. A bit of a dreamer. At times his ‘dreaming’ would make him lose focus. But overall, it has proved to be an asset. Because he was thoughtful about the game, it enabled him to, bit by bit, add more and more knowledge, understanding and technical elements to his game.
The word ‘educate’ translates in latin as ‘to draw out’ ability and it’s clear to see that he was a player that was intent on educating himself.
He loved challenge and responsibility. Would thrive in playing with older players but also excelled in leading and supporting younger and less experienced players.
He was ever oresent at camps and a fully committed player in our advanced groups for a number of years.
So pleased that all his efforts and the unflinching support of his parents, Dai and Sarah, have been rewarded.
Wishing you all the best Canaan!

Congratulations to Harry Richards on signing with Swansea City Academy. Smart move by Dad, Will, to get 1 on 1 Accelrated Skills training to make Harry's ball skills development and confidence a priority from such a young age. Another kid that loves Football, possibly more than life itself lol. And absolutely hates losing. Alex Ferguson always instructed his Scouts to look for 'bad losers'. He wanted ultra-competitive players at Manchester United. Well, the Man U Scouts would have loved Harry.
Harry has such a vivid imagination for the game. It's always great to see kids develop before the age of 7 because they are in the 'imprint' period where they are just taking it all in.
When kids receive positive messages from parents and coaches at that age, they assimilate learning that much easier. There is a shortcut between what they see in their head and what they're able to make happen in practice.
Harry is a dreamer and a doer.
It's always great to see genuine development being rewarded!
Keep dreaming, doing and BEING the player you see in your head Harry!
When you look at the 36 players we've had signed that came through TCSA. All of them come in different shapes and sizes with different strengths they bring to the table. The one thing they all have in common is a passion for the game that is almost unquenchable. And parents that help them pursue that passion without hang ups.

Congratulations to Charlie Wiggall on being selected as Captain of Carmarthen at own U16’s
for the forthcoming season.
This is a milestone for his development. Many that watched him play 2-3 years ago would have marked him down as having talent, but few would have had him down as ‘Captain Material’.
It’s a mark of his progress in all areas and his new found emotional maturity that he has been given this honour.
Like a lot of players, Covid Restrictions have seriously interrupted his development in the last 2 seasons.
But he has stayed consistent and is ready for another, potentially, breakthrough-season.
Credit goes to his parents for their superb and well-balanced support of Charlie. Combining unconditional love and flexibility with firm boundaries and clear choices and consequences.

Here is what it takes to be a champion from ‘The Greatest of All Time’
"Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them. A desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last minute stamina. They have to be a little faster. They have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill." - Muhammad Ali

Best wishes to all the Wales 🏴 Team in the Euros ⚽️ and especially, Rubin Colwill!!!
Here he is pictured having a one off run out for TCSA. Not that we could claim any credit for his development. Him and his Dad take it all for their incredible commitment to unfolding his talent.
What we can say is that it was an absolute pleasure to be involved in creating an environment that facilitated his development.
Rubin’s Dad, Richard, with his fantastic Neath Dynamos team totally embraced the spirit of our weekly ‘Super Sunday’ football festivals.
They always came to learn, express themselves and play expansive, exuberant Football.
The games we played against the Dynamos were a joy and played in a ‘safe environment’ where it was ok to make mistakes, yet everybody was stretched.
Rubin was always a stand out talent. But Richard has managed him intelligently.
Everyone at TCSA is thrilled for Rubin and his Dad.
P.S. 2 other Pros in this pic and one doing very well in Rugby. Can anyone name them?
