G&K Martial Arts Academy

Our wonderful G&K team in Scotland this weekend at the ICO - International Combat Organisation Four Nations Scottish leg.

We are so proud of you all.

Thank you to Mr Hux as chief coach, and not forgetting Paul and Rob our referees and all supporters who attended.

Also thank you to Rob and Ryan again for driving our mini buses. Safe journey home and keeping everything crossed the drive home will be smooth and not as long as the journey up.

Thank you to our wonderful team of Instructors and Leaders who kept all the classes running smoothly in the Dojo on Friday and Saturday.

Due to Summer holidays, it’s a smaller than usual, but a determined team of G&K students attending the ICO - International Combat Organisation Four Nations Scottish leg. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We finish day 1 in 2nd place on todays’s top school leaderboard!

Some of the G&K team had up to a SEVENTEEN hour journey to get to Scotland with traffic chaos on the M6.

They arrived in Scotland at 3.30am this morning and were busy competing on the mats all day today!

A massive thank you to our heroes Rob Bevan and Ryan Miles our designated drivers- what an unexpected long journey they had to undertake.

Hope Rob, Ryan and all supporters and competitors have a good night’s sleep tonight. 😴

Congratulations to young Kait G, first place today on the top ten individuals list at the ICO Four Nations Scottish leg. 🥊

She was also awarded Junior Sportsperson earlier in the year at the Swansea Sports Awards.

A fantastic day for Team G&K! We took a small team to the WKU Welsh Championships, and every single fighter stepped up with outstanding performances.

Last month, I took a small team to the Leeds Open Championships 2026. It was a great day, and the team put in some strong performances against new opposition.

Dear Students

Please see road closures in Gorseinon including Brighton Road sadly due to an accident. Hopefully everyone involved is ok and all roads will be open this evening again.

| We're at the scene of an incident on Pen-Cae Crwn Road, Gorseinon.

The road is currently closed between Cecil road from the junction of High Street to Pen-Cae Crwn Road to the junction of Frampton Road.

Brighton Road, Brynteg Road and Pontardulais Road are also closed. There will be no access to these roads from any approach.

Please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Thank you for your patience.
