Give Bowls a try for free on Sunday 5th July

If you've ever thought about trying lawn bowls, why not come along to Swansea Bowling Club next Sunday afternoon and give it a go?

We'll be holding a free open session on Sunday 5th July from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at our green on Bryn Road. Free instruction and all equipment will be provided, and there will be an opportunity to play a short match to practise your new skills. The bar will be open and will remain open afterwards if you'd like to stay for a chat.

Everyone is welcome, whether you're completely new to bowls or have joined us at a previous open session and would like another go.

If you enjoy it, there are also regular weekly sessions open to non-members for a small fee:
• Spoons – Mondays, register at 5.00pm for a 5.30pm start
• Richie Fuller Triples – Fridays, register at 1.30pm for a 2.00pm start

John Jenkins

Sunday 14th June marks another very special occasion at Swansea Bowling Club as we come together once again to remember John Jenkins.

Many of our newer members may not have had the chance to know John personally. He passed away in 2012, our centenary year, and his loss was deeply felt across the bowls community. John served Swansea Bowling Club with great dedication as a long-standing and highly respected secretary, and went on to serve as President and Chairman of the City and County of Swansea Bowling Association. He was a well-known and well-regarded figure throughout the wider bowls world.

Beyond the green, John was equally respected in his professional life as a musician and in education. A man who gave much to those around him in so many different ways.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to our ground at Bryn Road on Sunday 14th June, starting at 2.30pm.

We want to say a sincere thank you to all the members who are giving their time to take part and help make this a wonderful occasion once again.
