Just the one fixture for the Smeudwy tomorrow, with our Reserves awarded the 3 points after Bryn Rovers 3rds were unable to field a team.

That means all the focus turns to our First Team, as we welcome Rhos Football Club to The Corbwll for a local derby in the Neath Premier Division!

The boys have made a perfect start to life back in the Premier with back-to-back 6-0 wins, but we know there’s plenty of hard work still to be done.

We’re looking forward to getting back out there, battling for another massive 3 points and hopefully seeing a big crowd down The Corbwll to get behind the lads!

Clydach Sports 0-6 Ynysmeudwy AFC

Another fantastic result for our First Team as we make it back-to-back 6-0 victories and continue a brilliant start to life back in the Neath League Premier Division! 💪🏻

It was a tough start to the game, with Clydach coming at us and putting us under plenty of pressure. Our boys weathered the storm, defended brilliantly and stayed patient before finally breaking the deadlock.

A lovely cross from Anthony Morgan found Yusuf Aslam, who finished expertly from the edge of the area into the bottom-left corner to put us 1-0 up.

Just 12 minutes later, Clydach were reduced to 10 men after one of their players was shown a straight red card following an incident involving one of our players.

From there, we took complete control. We played our football, moved the ball well and created chance after chance, with the goals starting to flow as we ran out 6-0 winners!

Clydach Sports vs Ynysmeudwy AFC

Another midweek game for the club, and the first for our First Team as they make the trip to Coed Gwilym Park to take on Clydach Sports.

After a fantastic 6-0 win on the opening day, the boys will be looking to carry that momentum into tonight and make it back-to-back wins to start the league campaign.

Games between ourselves and Clydach Sports have historically always been close, competitive encounters, with very little separating the two sides. We’re expecting no different tonight and hopefully we’re in for another classic! ⚽️🔥

Ynysmeudwy AFC Reserves 2–1 Bryncoch Thirds

What a fantastic effort from the lads as we came from behind to secure all 3 points against a good, experienced Bryncoch side! 💪🏻

We started the game really well, playing some good football and creating opportunities, but found ourselves deflated after Bryncoch grabbed the opening goal. We went into half-time 1–0 down, and after a tough team talk, the lads came out for the second half absolutely fired up.

The second half was a completely different story. We were all over Bryncoch, creating chance after chance and really taking the game to them.

The equaliser finally came when Scott Rosser drove down the left before putting a dangerous ball into the middle for Jaden Morgan to finish and make it 1–1!

That goal fired the boys right up and you could sense we could go on and win it. Once again, Scott caused havoc down the left, taking on two players before firing a powerful low cross across goal for Jaden Morgan to finish again and complete the comeback! 2–1! Absolute scenes! 🔥🙌🏻

This genuinely could have gone to anyone tonight after the effort shown across the pitch, but Rhodri gets the nod. He worked tirelessly down the left, constantly offering overlapping support for Scott and helping us create chance after chance. A superb performance. 👏🏻

After picking up all 3 points on the opening day in a hard-fought game, the boys will be looking to build on that result and make it back-to-back wins.

AFC Glais 3rds 2–3 Ynysmeudwy AFC Reserves

A brilliant start to the season for our Reserves as we come away with a deserved three points!

We started the game well, controlling possession and working the ball nicely from the back, through midfield and out wide, where we caused Glais plenty of early problems.

The breakthrough came when Tom John won the ball and played Scott Rosser through, who calmly finished his one-on-one to put us 1-0 up.

The game became a little scrappy through the middle, with Glais creating a one-on-one of their own, but our keeper produced a great save to keep us ahead.

We soon regained control. Some good work down the left involving Scott released Jordan, who picked out Rhodri Hunter to place his finish into the far bottom corner for 2-0.

We looked comfortable, but a lapse in concentration just before the break allowed a long-range effort to loop over our keeper and make it 2-1 at half-time.

We came out strongly again in the second half, making changes to strengthen the midfield. Another dangerous run from Scott found Kayden, who cut in from the left and picked out Jaden Morgan to slot home and restore our two-goal advantage. 3-1.

We dealt with most things comfortably at the back until a sloppy backpass late on allowed Glais to pull one back and set up a nervy final couple of minutes, but the lads saw it out to secure a 3-2 win and all three points!

Ynysmeudwy AFC 6–0 Ystradgynlais AFC

A perfect start to our league campaign!

We started exactly how we wanted, taking control from the first whistle and putting Ystradgynlais under constant pressure.

Captain Anthony Morgan opened the scoring after just 6 minutes with a lovely header before adding another header seven minutes later to make it 2-0.

Just a minute later, centre-half Cai Bowden got himself on the scoresheet for 3-0, before producing an absolute screamer in the 24th minute to make it 4-0. 🚀

We continued to control the game until half-time and picked up where we left off after the break. Ryan Rouse made it five with a lovely finish before adding his second following another great team move to complete a 6-0 victory.
Credit to the Ystradgynlais keeper, who pulled off a number of excellent saves throughout the game and prevented the scoreline from being even bigger.

Ryan was a constant threat going forward while still putting in the work defensively to help the team secure the clean sheet. Simply unplayable on the day, finishing with 2 goals and an assist.

After a long and positive pre-season, the real action gets underway today as both Ynysmeudwy sides begin their 2026/27 league campaigns!

Our First Team welcome Ystradgynlais AFC to The Corbwll in the Neath League Premier Division, while our Reserves travel to face AFC Glais 3rds in Neath League Division 4.

Pre-season has given both squads plenty of minutes, new players have settled in and there's been some really promising football on display. Now it's time to put all that hard work into the real deal as both teams look to start the season with three points! 💪🏻
