A fascinating quote from the time of planning the Oasis. It is clear that the Council had some vision then, a quality that the Conservative Administration seems to be sadly lacking at the moment.

From 1972 Council Archive on the plans for the Oasis: "Properly run, it has a very high social content making a meeting place for a wide variety of people and contribution to the spirt and heart of the town."

Devastating news that the Oasis is one of the Top Ten At-Risk Buildings in the country.

Unbelievable that the Council has let the building deteriorate like this.

Great to see the local Labour party putting the Oasis at the heart of their campaign. Been really impressed by the local Labour councillors for the work they have done trying to fight for the Oasis and keeping residents informed...

Really pleased that the Labour Group motion on the Oasis was unanimously supported tonight at Swindon Borough’s Full Council meeting.

We really need this Independent Report to allow us to make sensible decisions about how best to reopen the Oasis and allow it to be used by generations of Swindonians to come.
