What another great evening of training we had tonight - and our triathletes worked super hard.

After starting the evening with a steady run, strength and conditioning session we moved straight into the pool where the real work began.

A coaches special kick set ... working hard to build leg strength, core strength and base stamina ... an absolute cracker.

It was great to see all our athletes put in masses of effort in the pool.

Yes we are back. A great evening of running and swimming.

All focused on rebuilding skills, strength and fitness. Over the coming weeks the training sessions will be focused around these 3 core aspects.

We are already looking forward to continuing the great rebuild on Sunday.

On Sunday 2 of our older Triathletes who now head off to University took part with our Head Coach in the Cotswold Sprint Triathlon at Lake 32.

Having trained with the club over the last 6 years their all round Swim Bike Run skills have improved significantly thanks to the great dedication and commitment of Swindon Phoenix Youth Triathlons great coaching team.

They completed the open water Swim / Run legs in 12 min(750m) and 22min (5.4km) with the team winning overall by a 5 minute margin.

Its great to see athletes progress, improve and deliver such great results.

We start February off with warmer dry weather as Triathletes tackled a 20 min Fartlek run.

Whilst in the pool it was a "Slow Slow" controlled Pyramid set before some Streamlining drills and finishing with Sprints.

Another great evening by all and we are building fitness nicely.

Todays swim was all about "Slow Slow Slow" focus on technique and what a difference this made to everyone.

Focusing on getting technique and the basics right to then be able to apply power through great technique creates faster athletes - this philosophy appiles to Running and Biking too.

Awesome Swim session from everyone after which we headed off for a Transition session and several bike / runs laps to finish things off on the fields ... always a tough ask.

Swimming and running again on Thursday.
