We are incredibly proud of every one of you for the way you represented both Xtreme Edges Elite and our academy throughout the tournament.

Across the tournament, the teams achieved some fantastic results:

🥉 U11B – Bronze Medalists
🏒 U13 – 5th Place
🏒 U15 – 4th Place

Tournaments like these are about more than results. They’re about challenging yourselves against top opposition, making lifelong friendships, creating unforgettable memories and continuing your development both on and off the ice.

A huge well done to Sam, Kayleigh and everyone at Xtreme Edges Elite, along with the coaches, managers, volunteers and families who made the experience possible for them.

Congratulations to Jan Kostal on being named our Academy Older Age Group MVP! 👏🏒
We have had words from Coach Ken sent in and feel this deserves its own place on the grid.

Jani is the kind of player every coach hopes to have. A complete centreman who impacts every area of the game, he plays with intelligence, determination and a relentless work ethic from one end of the ice to the other.
What makes Jani stand out isn’t just his ability, but his attitude. He’s incredibly coachable, humble, low maintenance and always puts the team first. His commitment to improving every day has seen him take huge strides in his development this season, and those improvements are already paving the way for what promises to be a very bright senior hockey career.

Each of you has been part of the Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Academy journey, creating memories, overcoming challenges, and developing both as players and people. It has been a privilege to watch you grow through the academy, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything you’ve achieved.

Your next chapters will all look a little different. Some of you will be taking your first steps into senior hockey, others will continue to build on their senior careers, and some will be pursuing opportunities even further afield. Whatever path lies ahead, we know you’ll represent yourselves and the academy with pride.

We’d also like to wish the very best of luck to Cal Forshee and Josef Lock, who are leaving the club to continue their hockey journeys overseas. We thank you both for everything you’ve given to the Wildcats and can’t wait to see what you achieve in the next stage of your careers.

A fantastic achievement for all of our award winners following a season of hard work, commitment and high-level performances meaning you got your place in the final at Nationals.

A special mention goes to Jan Kostal, who picked up an incredible three awards, being voted Players’ Player by his teammates the Best Forward and also recognised as the Older Age Group MVP. All awards are a reflection of the impact he has had on the team and the respect he has earned throughout the season. 👏🏒

You should all be incredibly proud of your achievements. Well done to all of our U19 National League award winners and teammates.

🌟 Good Luck, Bella! 🌟

Bella is currently attending the Elite Girls Camp at the prestigious Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Minnesota, one of the most renowned hockey development programmes in the world. Over the years, the school has helped develop some of hockey’s biggest names, including Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon and Macklin Celebrini.

For the next seven days, Bella will be training alongside some of the top female players, learning from elite coaches and USA Hockey personnel, gaining invaluable experience both on and off the ice.

Enjoy every minute, Bella, work hard, learn lots and make memories that will last a lifetime. We can’t wait to hear all about it when you return!

Today we celebrate all the dads, step-dads, grandads and father figures who make our hockey journeys possible.

From the early morning starts and late-night drives, to sharpening skates, being kitman, taxi services, cheering from the stands, being on the ice as coach and being there through every win and loss….. thank you!

Everyone at Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Academy would like to congratulate Jan Kostal Jr and Oskar Sagan on their signings with the Bespoke Swindon Wildcats for the 2026/27 season on two-way contracts with Swindon Wildcats 2.

Both players have progressed through our academy pathway, worked tirelessly on and off the ice, and have earned this fantastic opportunity through their dedication, commitment and performances over a number of years.

As an academy, we are incredibly proud to see our player development pathway continue to deliver opportunities for young players to progress from junior hockey into NIHL 1 and NIHL National League hockey. Seeing players move from academy sessions, through Wildcats 2, and into the senior programme is exactly what our pathway is designed to achieve.

Jan and Oskar are excellent role models for the next generation of academy players, showing what can be achieved through hard work, perseverance and a commitment to development.

We wish both players every success for the season ahead and look forward to watching their continued progress in Wildcats colours.
