We’re sorry to say that there will be no fencing on Tuesday 17th March 2026. Unfortunately all of the coaches are unavailable this week due to other commitments.

We are very sorry for this error and to ensure that no-one misses a session, our Christmas break will be reduced and we will run a session for longer in the summer. This will be explained nearer the time.

Apologies again and we hope this doesn’t cause too much inconvenience. We will be back as usual on Tuesday 24 March.

After a 3 year break, our venue is increasing hall hire fees from the 1st of September.

As a result monthly standing orders need to increase at the same time by £4 (i.e £1 extra per week) so that a junior pays £27/month or £12 on the door.

Adults will be £34 or £16 on the door.

Please ensure you have logged onto your bank and increased the standing order.

Thank you

Hi All,

FIRST reminder - this Tuesday 6-10pm we are at the Cricklade Manor Prep sports hall on Calcutt Street, Cricklade SN6 6BB. We are there for the next 10 weeks - our last session there is 1 July.

This is because the Deanery sports hall is being used for GCSEs.

Directions from Swindon are - come off the A419 at Cricklade go over the first roundabout and turn immediately left after Meadow bridge primary school, there is a tarmac drive with conifer tree stumps on your right hand side as you turn in and the sports hall is in front of you.

We will be back at The Deanery on Tuesday 8 July.

Please reply PRIVATELY to this message with any questions you have so I can then answer them without everyone in the group being copied in.

Best wishes Neil

Good morning everyone, another great days’s fencing on Sunday at the EYCs seeing another 3 children achieving top 16 finishes….JJ u15 Epee, Joshua u13 Epee and Phoebe all achieved this which is brilliant.

Personally Joshua’s was the performance of the day for calmness, keeping cool under intense pressure and resilience. After a mixed set of pool results placing him 24th, he drew the 9th seed who was a very handy left hander. They were nip and tuck all the way to 9-9 with Joshua putting together his most complete performance yet, hitting his opponent on the wrist, arm, leg and foot. With priority in his favour he picked his moment to finish a deserved winner. He almost pulled it off again for a place in the last 8 losing 9-10!

Special mention to Abdul Aleem for his heart, courage and never giving up throughout a very challenging u11 foil.

Also well done to Esme u13 Epee and Sam u15 Foil…..lots of valuable lessons learned.

We’ll be back again next year with more fencers ready to do battle with the best in England! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

See you on Tuesday

Good morning everyone from day two of the English Youth Championships at Hatfield……

4 girls in top 16 in the country is a fantastic performance with some incredible fencing. Congratulations to Aoife u13 Epee, Roxy and Maisie u15 Foil - you all fenced brilliantly yesterday. Our top performance belonged to Emily who finished 6th in u15 girls foil in the first year she has entered this event.

Zara Stuart gave the number 1 seed u13 Epee the fright of her life before losing the last hit 9-10. I have no doubt on another day Zara would have had the victory.

Well done to everyone who entered. Special mention goes to our first time EYC competitors - Harvey, Ruben, Ellie, Zara W and Thomas. Valuable experience for next year…….

I will update you on day 2 later today…..

See you at The DEANERY this Tuesday 6pm.
