Now that the three-stage Biathlopett series has come to a close, it is time to announce the league winners and share some photos of them receiving their prizes. Congratulations to everyone who took part!
This year saw the largest number of competitors yet, with 78 athletes taking part in the three events in Swindon, Leeds and Fife. There was a significant increase in female participation, rising from 20 to 28, while male participation decreased slightly from 53 to 50. However, the overall trend is positive.
We already have plans in motion to further develop the competition series, likely introducing an open category for newer and more mature athletes who want race-day experience without the same number of kilometres in their relevant age group.
We would also love to introduce a family category for the running laser race, based on age and gender results, where three members (minimum one child or one parent) of the same family earn points across the series to be crowned the Biathlon Family of the Year.
We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas too!
Next up are the inaugural British Summer Champs at the Redbridge Cycle Track on the last weekend in October, comprising two biathlon championship races and a floodlit Nordic Championship sprint race. The final schedule will be released very soon, so watch this space! The whole event is also going to be filmed to create an exciting promotional video for the sport and future events, thanks to Jack White from www.nordarktis.com

Fife Biathloppet Results.
These results are usually based on all four races over the weekend, but due to the different age categories involved in the British Distance Championships race format, they have been based purely on the two biathlon races.

The final Biathlopett of 2026, which included the British Summer Distance Championships, took place in Fife, with a record 61 athletes in attendance.
Saturday was challenging due to the windy conditions, but Sunday was more stable, although there were a couple of downpours. Nevertheless, spirits remained high, and there was some really high-standard skiing and shooting on display.
The four individual race results are below, and the Fife Biathloppet results will be posted separately, along with the overall league results.

This Biathloppet is going to be unique, with us having the honour to host the British Summer Distance Championship race being a combination of a Classic time trial and a free technique pursuit the following day. This is going to be a first for the UK.
Just a heads-up that the British Biathlon summer championship races are happening in October at the Redbridge Cycle Track (full hill course) consisiting of two bithlon championship races and also the British Sprint championship race will also be taking place, and we're pretty sure this is the first time it's been held under floodlights in the UK!
It's been a great year for roller-skiing, and we've got some exciting developments in the works for 2027!
