What a performance from Matilda yesterday . She rose to the challenge in a tougher section and brought home silver, then returned to dominate her regular section with gold, and stepped up again into an advanced match—taking it to extra time but unfortunately didn’t get the win . Immensely proud of our little club's big-hearted champion.

Why do we take our fighters to high-level British Championships when most of them have been training or competing for less than two years?

Simple — because they’re willing to put in the work.

If someone shows up, grafts hard, and pushes themselves every session, why wouldn’t we give them the chance to test themselves on a big stage? Are they always “ready”? Probably not. But readiness isn’t just about experience — it’s about mindset.

Pressure either breaks you or builds you. And if they can stand in there, feel it, and keep going… then great things will come.

Truth is, there aren’t many novice and intermediate tournaments around anymore. So sometimes it really is sink or swim.

Right now? Our team might not be fully swimming yet… but they’re definitely not sinking. They’re learning, growing, and most importantly — they keep coming back.

And that’s what matters. 👊
