Presidentโ€™s Message January 2020

Greetings all,

As the incoming President, can I firstly offer my thanks to Roy Munro for all his hard work over the past two years and I think I speak for everyone when we say, we are very grateful that he has agreed to stay on the Committee too. Also, a huge thank you to Joanie Whiteford for her time as treasurer and to Joyce for all your hard work as club secretary. Your hard work and commitment are very much appreciated. Welcome to our new secretary Jane Mason and our new Treasurer Janet Scott. Margaret MacLeod has kindly agreed to continue in her role as membership secretary and I would like to also thank her, for all her work up to this date and we all look forward to moving Tain Tennis Club forward and creating a positive, fun environment for people of all ages and skill levels to enjoy time on the courts. Spring is just around the corner and the nights are already starting to get longer.

We had our first committee meeting of the year yesterday and it was very well attended. We are all looking forward to the new season and John and Scott continue as they have done all winter with their coaching schedules. John and Scott can be seen out in all weathers as you drive past the club, so thank you to them and if anyone has any coaching questions, please speak to them in the first instance. Their numbers are at the bottom of this page.

The leagues will be starting again before we know it and general club times are open to anyone who wants to come down for a game. We are keen to see any new faces so if you have friends or family who would like to visit then please feel free to bring them along too. The more the merrier!

Annual maintenance is being organised for the coming months and new club signage is planned to make everyoneโ€™s experience and time at the club, even more pleasurable and enjoyable.

Our club quiz went very well and can I thank everyone who came along and made it the great night that it was. The competition was very high and fun was had by all and a total sum of just over ยฃ500 was raised. Thank you to all who came and to Joanie and Margaret for all their hard work organising the event.

I hope to have more updates for you in the coming months and I am dyslexic so can I apologise now for any spelling mistakes. I will do my utmost to find a proofreader!

I am excited about the coming year and look forward to seeing everyone down at the courts very soon.
