A dominant performance this afternoon earns Town a well deserved and much needed three points and a clean sheet as we defeat Presteigne Development by seven goals!

Town started brightly, creating chances in abundance, although the finishing and a number of good saves kept the score level at 0-0 until the 23rd minute, when Harry Sharman opened the scoring with the first of his three goals on the afternoon.

It wasn’t long before Town raced into a 3-0 lead, thanks to a confidently dispatched penalty from Kyle O’Shea and a good finish from Ricky Lynes.

The second half saw Town continue to pile on the pressure, with Presteigne firmly camped in their own half. Once again, chances came and went, but the Town faithful had to remain patient until the 64th minute, when youngster Rhodri Inseal produced the goal of the game! Cutting in across the edge of the box, Rhodri unleashed a rocket of a finish that flew past the keeper.

Three more late goals followed, allowing Harry Sharman to complete a much-deserved hat-trick before Gresh Chodnicki rounded off the scoring with a powerful finish to register his first league goal of the campaign. Two of the late goals were assisted by the influential Head Chef and owner of Panteg Kitchens, Gavin Perry!

A positive display all round, with chances in abundance, seven goals, a clean sheet and three very welcome points!

A special mention goes to youngsters Rhodri Inseal, Connor Pritchett and Dylan Luckhurst, who were superb once again. Performances like these from the youngsters show that the future of the Town side looks bright

DEFEAT

Town rue missed chances in the first half as we fall to a disappointing defeat at the hands of Rhayader Town FC Reserves.

After falling behind in a first half where it looked like we’d never find the net, Ricky latched onto a through ball from Matthew Lloyd and calmly slotted home to score his first league goal for the Town.

The second half became a much messier affair, with towns performance dropping with Rhayader’s lively number 19 eventually completing his hat-trick to punish Town for the chances we failed to take in the first half.

A frustrating afternoon, with Town feeling there was more on offer after a promising first-half display. Credit to Rhayader, though, who take all three points.

This Saturday we host our third of four consecutive home games at the King George as we welcome Rhayader Town Reserves to Talgarth.

Much like ourselves, Rhayader have had a mixed bag start to the season, making this another important fixture as Town look to build some momentum and start to climb up the league table.

14.30 Saturday, be there.
