An untreated, seam leak will only ever get worse.

Keeping your board maintained is a key part to being safe on the water.

✅️ keep it clean to avoid the build-up of bacteria and improve bio security

✅️ wash it when it's inflated to ensure any punctures and leaks are picked up early

✅️ Service your valve to ensure it's operating correctly

✅️ check the fin box for cracks and your handles for any lifting

✅️ deal with any issues you find! Don't leave them and get caught out.

It's been a bit busy lately with a lot of these.. 👆..
The hot weather beat a lot of boards out there, but luckily, we're here to put it all right again. 😎.

So remember, in hot conditions:
✅️ Aim to keep your board cool / shaded

✅️ Reduce the operating PSI

❌️ Don't inflate a board that's been resting in the sun

❌️ An electic pump in hot weather will put hotter air into your board, accelerating the risk of failure.

This took a bit of thinking due to the inner band being completely destroyed. 🤔

So after a few test fits and an internal rebuild, I could then rebond the outer rail and add an additional band due to some pvc stretch.

But overall, a great result and another board saved and back with the customer. 😎

Successful patch work needs three simple things... Preparation, Precision, Patience

✅️ Preparation:
- Have everything you need to hand.
- Clean and prepare the area
- Mark the area you're going to patch

✅️ Precision:
- Use the right size patch
- Remove all corners - these are stress points
- Ensure the damage is in the centre of the patch when applied

✅️ Patience:
- Apply the first layer of adhesive and wait..
- When touch dry, apply a second layer and wait.. don't rush..
- Leave to cure for 24 hours

A lot of paddle boards on the menu this year for our rodent friends..🤦🏻

Due to the damage, this took a lot of thinking to ensure the integrity of the board and safety could be maintained.

So whilst it just looks like a patch, there's a serious amount of work gone on underneath and inside the board.

As you can see, the finished result is a tidy one, and this board is back and ready for more adventures. 😎

So much of what we do is unseen and is under the surface.
Tearing of PVC is actually quite rare given the tensile properties and will often be caused by an external influence.

These types and many others involve a rebuild from the inside out.. not an easy task..

Really enjoyed the reconstruction on this one, and I am thrilled we can return the board back to be used again for many more adventures.
